Review summary

The ship was set up to cater to Japanese customers.  English was not the first language.  I did not expect this adaptation.  Some issues were not true to web site and response was its Japanese season.  Any of the concerns we had were resolved to our satisfaction.  The bulk of the passengers were Japanese and not always friendly.  A different attitude from previos cruises I have participated in.  Overall a good experience, could have been great with a few adjustments for English speaking customers.

Cabin was clean and the veranda was ok. Because of cabin location, veranda was very windy and often furniture was tied down.

Matt09 and Barn. We did a cruise last August on the Dawn Princess being our first cruise we booked all the excursions. I felt they were a waste of money, this time we are going to research places we want to see and share a uber taxi or bus with our friends it will be a lot cheaper. As far as visas we have got our pasport photo x 2 each and will just let Princess organise. Would also suggest that you take a usb hub with you if you want to charge more than one electronic device. Lets hope we all have a great cruise and see some wonderful places :)

We have just booked through an agent but never again as mistakes made with nearly every aspect of our trip from trying to overcharge on original quote to incorrect names on flight bookings, will be doing it all direct next time.

This comment is for deboftheseas. I always book directly with the cruise company and I'll tell you why. About 3 years ago I booked a cruise through an agent and then had to cancel. I had cancelled within enough time to get my deposit refunded from the cruise company. However the agent would NOT refund the deposit and kept it as their cancellation fee! Now who do you think the joke is on ?

We have just completed a cruise on the Dawn Princess which was great our next one in on the 8th Jan 2017 on the Diamond Princess visiting Thsiland, Vietnam and Cambodia, so hooe it is just as good, and that there are no laguage barriers

We had no idea it would be so geared to the Japanese market and we booked through Cruise.co.uk! We enjoyed our cruise but we were overwhelmed by the 95% Japanese who were lovely people but the language barrier made things difficult on occasions ( a message left in our cabin regarding a missing case was in Japanese!)

Yes you are right.

Good comment, I'm an agent too, trouble is most these people just do it themselves, they are afraid of us, think we charge extra for our services, and that by booking direct with the cruise line they are getting a better deal The joke is really on them

Your agent should have informed you this itinerary is marketed to Japanese clients. We are seeing more cruises targeting Asian markets, especially from Hong Kong.
