Review summary

Crystal is back and we will consider them for future cruises. The enlarged suites is a great enhancement to the ship and cruie experience. Crystal still need some efforts on staff, excursion communication and menu options at dinner in the main dining room

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Since we arrived late, there were no lines for check in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
This was a hit or miss. Service in main dining was sometimes great while other times not. Dinner menu in main dining room at limited options. If you choose the grill for lunch, you ordered at counter not knowing how long it would take or if someone else is walking away with your order. Asian restaurant was great while Italian was nothing to write home about.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Crystal has always done great on Enrichment speakers and this continues. Fitness Center is adequate.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Most of the entertainment was great, and orchestra did great.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Some staff were great while others were not attentive. Examples: being served wrong meal at dinner; never being asked if additional wine was needed or filling up glass without asking.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The staff strive to keep the ship clean and maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
A big plus is the suites have been enlarged which was a previous drawback. Staff kept the cabin very clean!! The two entry ways to the bathroom have a threshold that "bands" each time you step on it, which was iratating.

Ports of call

Reykjavik, Iceland

5 out of 5
Took helicopter to geothermal fields, expensive excursion but found it great.

Stornoway, Isle Of Lewis, Hebrides

4 out of 5
Great excursion to Scottish Highlands, however due to late tender ashore tye visit to Glencoe was cut very short.

Greenock (Glasgow), Scotland

5 out of 5
We always enjoy Glasgow and enjoyed another Scottish Highland excursion.

Douglas, Isle Of Man

5 out of 5
First time visit here, enjoyed a train ride and old castle visit.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

5 out of 5
Tool a city tour related to food. It was nice yo visit the busy town xenter and experience local eats.

Liverpool, England

5 out of 5
Took a bus tour of Northern Wales, which is always beautiful. Toured an old family castle with wonderful gardens.

Dun Laoghaire (Dublin), Ireland

4 out of 5
We were required to anchor vs. dock in Dublin, which added 75 minutes (one way) to get into Dublin, resulting in a very short excursion that really wasn't worth our while.

Dover (London), England

4 out of 5
Ending port.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Stressful!! First, we arranged our travel with Crystal with a 1:40 departure from London Heathrow. Ship staff told us bus ride could be three hours and first departure was 8:15. Heathrow is normally a ZOO so this was cutting it close for an international flight. And our luggage was misplaced in the departure tent. Turned out bus trip was only 2.25 hours so we had no issues making flight but unneeded stress with the tight schedule as communicated by staff.
