Review summary

Honestly, our best cruise yet. Wonderful in all categories, and a game-changer for my husband and Me. Can not wait for the next one on Crystal.

Embarkation

Quick. Easy. Pleasant. Virtually no lines. Welcoming of guests was smooth and set the tone for the balance of a wonderful Cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We have dietary restrictions, and our Headwaiter, Santhana, was delighted to help us and make our experience top-notch. Umi-Uma was delicious. Black Cod lives up to its reputation!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Yoga is always way too early for me. I’m on vacation & not wanting to get up early. The dance classes with Curtis & Beverly were wonderful! The enrichment classes were playing to an older crowd which was to be expected, yet interesting anyway. Kitchen tour also interesting. Next cruise guy was either with someone else, or, not at his desk. That was a bit of bummer.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Performances were really fantastic. Top-Tier, and what you’d expect on a larger ship. Very memorable! Comedians were funny without vulgarities (imagine that?!). Singers & Dancers were fabulous. We especially enjoyed the dancers! The French singer. The late-night DJ. The piano bar. The Crystal pianist in the main bar. All wonderful. For the majority of the trip, there were no poolside musicians, which initially bothered me. I grew to appreciate the quiet ...

Service and Staff

Everyone was wonderful, delightful and delighted to make our experience a memorable one.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is older, so we gave it a 4Star for that reason, but still quite lovely. We found it to be Very clean except in the Bistro, where the tables needed a bit of wiping on occasion.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
All great: clean. Spacious for a cruise cabin, especially the bathroom with a tub!! Extremely well-located for us, as we take the stairs exclusively.

Ship tip

Research the ports in advance. I didn’t, and the excursion desk recommended a very expensive beach. Had we done our homework, we could have enjoyed the day and beach, much more.

Disembarkation

We chose to be last to leave which made it super-simple. We didn’t have our bags out by 11pm, so had to take them off ourselves. Because of the size of the ship and the getting off on a higher floor than other vessels, even dragging our stuff was easy; perhaps even easier than trying to locate our bags in a sea of others. Super-Simple.

Nice review. We were on same cruise which was the 2nd part of a B2B. This was our 2nd time on Symphony. Agree with your assessment. We also took the golf lessons twice a day and enjoyed that. Glad you enjoyed.
