We liked this cruise for the sea days, and being able to relax. Cruising is changing and we are seeing alot of things that they are cutting back on. Not like years ago, and the fees are increasing accordingly. Just be prepared for added expenses, but the experience is still wonderful.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Understandably, cruises have changed since the pandemic. Also with Carnival buying Princess, there are some corporate changes that have occurred. One of these is the food and quality that Princess was once known for. Today, it is OK, but not great. The servers are still top notch, and so nice. We are not "foodies" so our experience will not be as critical as others. Many long time cruisers we talked to said the food was marginal. We enjoyed it, so fine for us.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We took this cruise to see how we would like being at sea for alot of days. We enjoyed it as we played our games, and read alot of books. The activities on board were pretty pathetic. They had some of the standard Trivia stuff, and dumb game show things, so I was not impressed. There were no enrichment lectures, or talks about ship life, and what happened behind the scenes.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We thought the music around the ship was fantastic....ie, Jan Jan on guitar, Liam on piano, the female duo singers, the violins duo, and the Hawaii Tiki Dave and his wife. Wonderful! The theater shows and productions were below average for us....
Children's Programs
We did not have children with us
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All of our service personnel on board were wonderful, as that has not changed at all.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We liked the Crown Princess layout, as it had some really nice areas for being outside, and lounging. It is one of the older ships so we liked that.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Nice size cabin, with a full couch, and roomy balcony. We will always try to get a mini suite on future cruises.
Ship tip
Nice ship with alot of nice areas to sit and congregate.
Tender location as no dock. That can be problematic in bad weather. We were lucky with the sun shining and calm seas. We like Maui the best over the years, but we did not go on this cruise for Hawaii.
I actually loved Hawaii & the many islands we visited - I am sorry you didn't enjoy yourself there. I also must agree with you that on the Princess ships the food has been under par a few times. I still managed to have a blast! The staff has always been lovely & so welcoming! Happy you had a good time!
