Review summary

I really enjoyed the cruise. I was definitely one of the younger people there at 26 and since I went by myself I spent a good amount of time at the bar exploiting the 15 drinks a day drink package hahaha. But I was pleasantly surprised to find some of the best bartenders I have ever had the pleasure to be served by. I had my spots that I posted up at and started to be familiar with the amazing staff on board. The seated options for food that are included were great! 5 days is just long enough to feel like a vacation but not long enough for your health to stay suffering from all the booze and good food 😊

Embarkation

If you do all of the things ahead of time it’s incredibly easy to get on the boat. Took me about 10 mins to make it through.

Service and Staff

Ivan and Jefferson at Good Spirita we’re def the highlight of the time while on the ship. All of the staff were very nice and kind people. It was fun getting to know them and feel familiar 😊

Ship Quality

The ship was always very clean. This is the first cruise so can’t really compare design.

Cabin / Stateroom

The bed was soooo comfortable and the mirrors in the room made it feel way bigger. Also the water pressure and heat in the shower was surprising great. I also like the location of L257 it’s close to the elevators, right next to salty dogs and you don’t have a neighbor to the right of you so it’s a awesome room to have.

Ship tip

Get to know the staff a lot of them are really cool people and had been all over the place. Also if you book through United you get a special package that includes the $70 tip for the staff, $50 for the internet and the drink package (which is 15 drinks!) all for 250 bucks. But I’d you do t use that I think the drink package is still worth it if you plan on drinking a lot on the ship.

Ports of call

Juneau, Alaska

Juneau and the Glacier were great. I still can’t hardly believe I actually saw it in person. I will say the tram ride was sooo crowded and short but Juneau is beautiful. If you don’t buy the excursions from princess there are a lot of other ways to go. Also there is a path to the glacier that’s away from the regular path closer to the water and it’s awesome! I walked up the normal path going there and it was pretty crowded but on the way back took a smaller path closer to the water that ended up opening up and leading back to the start without having to walk up hill. The fish hatchery is lack luster and the salmon bake was tasty but it was PACKED. I ate as quickly as I could and got in line for the bus back to town.

Ketchikan, Alaska

I didn’t buy any excursions but they have a self guided walking tour that’s very extensive. I was able to wonder me way to the totem museum, creek street, and some trails. It was very relaxing if you like walking there’s a lot to do. I also saw sea lions eating the salmon that were swimming up stream so that was neat.

Disembarkation

Very easy. I was in group B and carried my own luggage but I heard others had a good time as well. They have Tacis in Vancouver but depending on where you are going an Uber can be cheaper but you will have to walk a lil trek to get where they can pick you up.
