Review summary

Although there are loyal Princess cruisers out there we want a cruise line that offers better entertainment choices and good food. This was our 2nd and last Princess Cruise. We liked the itinerary and the dates worked with our schedules so we decided to give them another chance after our 1st experience cruising Princess a few years ago. Poor quality food and lack of evening entertainment doesn’t make this a company we want to cruise with again- there are too many other cruise lines out their that provide excellent cruising experiences , excellent entertainment, and quality dining.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was a breeze with the medallion

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Poor quality, dining room food unremarkable. Buffet breakfast choices limited, bowls of canned peaches and canned pears. Make to order omelets took 20 minutes on the buffet.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Nothing much happening on this ship except bingo and trivia. There were 2 very good comedians.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Musicians were ok. Comedians excellent. Opted out of the stage shows. In order to get a seat in the theater you would have to arrive at least 30 minutes before a show

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Bar staff and room attendants were excellent. Dining room staff average.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Cabin room carpet dirty

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Large balcony, balcony furniture worn and sagging. Cabin bedding was comfortable. Cabin small and offered no where to sit other than the bed or vanity chair that was on its last leg. Carpet was dirty. Had to have maintenance come to fix the sliding door, safe stopped functioning- had to have battery replaced

Ship tip

Good luck, we won’t sail Princess again

I've been on many PCL ships and find your opinions to be quite skewed, but they are your opinions. Hopefully you give up cruising, since I may be on a cruise with you someday, and last thing i want is somebody complaining all the time

Sorry for your disappointment but don’t give up try another line.

Try an Oasis Class ship on Royal Caribbean.

Princess and Holland America primarily known for their itineraries and not the entertainment and onboard activities. If you need more activities than spending time in a lounger watching the ocean go by, reading a book, doing a crossword puzzle, taking a nap or doing nothing, it’s not the line for you.
