Review summary

While weather kept us from visiting 2 of our stops, the crew was flexible and kept passengers busy with other onboard activities to make up for excursions we missed. The boat was very rocky but we actually had some great sunny sea days where everyone enjoyed the sundecks and pool. We did experience some sinus and allergy problems while onboard and noticed that there were lots of other passengers with the same symptoms. I wasn't able to buy any type of OTC meds to help. In the future, I wish that Princess would have more meds available onboard especially we weren't able to go onshore and find meds for our symptoms.

Embarkation

Sooo glad the muster experience isn't as difficult as it used to be - I am greatful we didn't have to take life jackets this time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We are from TX so love spicy food. To us - Horizon Court is predictably OK, but we realize that they prepare for lots of people with lots of taste buds. We enjoy the Int. Cafe and main dining rooms.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We always enjoy Movies under the stars and the other movies. We also enjoy the wine tasting and comments from the sommeliers,

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had several great people to mention. First, our steward, Mariella was wonderful, very attentive and pleasant but not obtrusive. Our bartenders Vish and Alexia made great suggestions and always remembered our names and our favorites. We felt like we became friends! The buristas, Carman and Christina were out early each morning with smiling faces and great attitudes. They made great suggestions, remembered what we liked and our names. Their service was great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We like that the entertainment in the Piazzo is pleasant and for the most part not so noisy. On some of the larger ships, dance lessons and other activities are on the Piazzo are and not everyone enjoys watching this.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
While our cabin was small, we have sailed on Princess, in balcony suites so many times that we now have "a place for everything and everything in place". There is plenty of storage and the beds are more comfortable than our $5000.00 bed at home.

Ship tip

We love being on Lido deck because you are close to the pools and the Horizon Court. However, if there are rough seas, you might "sway" more than passengers on lowers decks. We love Transatlatic because we eat, sleep, drink and are entertained. NOT ONE WORRY about time, schedules or what's for dinner!

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy Did not visit port

we boarded in Rome - were there several days prior and had great times and food.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy Did not visit port

We have been here several times and decided not to do an excusion but just stayed onboard.

Toulon, France Did not visit port

Weather prevented us from docking in Toulon which was dissappointing.

Barcelona, Spain Did not visit port

Weather kept us from docking in this port.

Ponta Delgada, Azores

4 out of 5
We have been here several times - we went into the moutains to Mosserat, an old Monestary and home to the "Black Madonna". It was strenous for my husband, crowded but beautiful.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We had forgotten to file out a customs form. Since we had made some big jewelry purchased onboard, we had a person that helped us fill out the form and walk us through the lines. She was very helpful and made us easy for us.

Love the movement of the sea. Only on Sea Princess we had the experience. Looking forward to be rocking to sleep again.

We have found that midship and midaft cabins on floors 8-10 have the least movement.
