Review summary

Captain much in control after virus outbreak. Well handled.

Disappointed in handling of restaurant reservations - when allowed!  Ridiculous to state "Anytime dining" with extreme limitations.  Waiting on long lines for dining and otherwise is not a "luxury cruise" item.  Experienced and were annoyed by the lineups.

Get act together to eliminate the "wait" lines. Make "Anytime dining" just that!

If you make reservations your wait is minimal, just like on shore. If you walk up without then you are told the wait time, just like on shore.

I might change to traditional dining, but still keeping a table for 2.

deanbartlett smh.... I have roots from the DEEP SOUTH. I highly doubt their problem was your being from Canada or Australia. maybe it was that they were Forced to have Y'all set with them. It is the DW and Myself only and I always try to get at a table for 8. gives you more people to visit with.

We had one day on our cruise that our matradee put us at a table with 8 others in the traditional dining area - it was more than obvious that they all deeply resented us being forced to sit with them as we are from Canada and they were from the deep south - there were 2 other ladies from Australia at the same table and they treated them the same way - We are very easy going and can usually talk to anyone from anywhere - but that was an unpleasant experience to say the least - We would rather wait for a very long time than do that again !!!

The only thing is hubby doesn't like the chance of being trapped at a table where he doesn't like the company or doesn't feel like visiting. I can talk to anyone so I do not mind. We didn't have any problems when we cruised in August to Alaska. Maybe a couple times we waited but the line was short. The problem is finding a table to sit down.

think I'll change my anytime dining...

and that us why I do not do ANYTIME DINING. Everyone wants to dine at the same time making for longer wait times. IMHO the cruise lines should just cancel it all together. people are always complaining about it. Do fixed dining and plan accordingly. But if you don't like that then be warned you will probably have a wait.

Everything I have read seems to indicate if you are diligent about hand washing you should be ok - Only 180 people of the 3060 on board were sick - that's less than 6 % - also those that get sick rarely are sick for more than a day or 2 - so unless you are very young or old or suffer from other issues that might complicate things you should have little to worry about

We're leaving for Mexico March 5..now I'm worried. I hope it's all cleared up by then.

That does not sound like a great experience - but it sounds like they did a good job containing the virus. Can you let us know HOW the reservation process was different? Was the long line up for the specialty restaurants or just the dining rooms ? How about room service ? We are only going on our 3rd cruise and we did not have anything like this happen to us on the first 2 - but it seems like this can and does happen on any ship around this time of year
