Review summary

Princess cruises are in our top two of cruising.

Food was good, although we felt the desert menu was definitely lacking from past Princess cruises. Some nights the menu was set up to celebrate the 50 year celebration and did not have much variety.

Through the many cruises we have taken I was saddened to see the requirements for dining room dress code have hit a new low.  Shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, jeans apparently are the norm.  SAD.

Our cabin steward Alex was one of the best we have had in the last few cruises.  Any request we made of him was done quickly and efficiently.  We appreciated him very much.

Since this was the "Entertainer of the year" cruise the entertainment was outstanding.  Generally we do not go to the shows.  Just not entertaining as far as we are concerned.  The talent of these candidates for the Entertainer of the Year was unbelievable.  Wish we had that on all of our cruises.

The three ports aren't overly exciting.  In one port our excursion had to be cancelled due to a storm the night before.  In another it was sad to see how many store fronts were now empty due to the lack of cruise traffic.  Shopping was not a big hit.  This was the first cruise where the "shopping expert" talked about the handicrafts available from locals.  I appreciated something other then Diamonds International.

We will definitely take another Princess Cruise.  The Crown Princess was great.  However this is the second time for this itinerary and we have explored as much as we can from these locations.  Will search for a different itinerary next time.

During the sea days were are used to having too much to choose from. This time we had large chunks of the day with nothing to do.

VERY SMALL. I expected more from Princess since it was a balcony stateroom. Sad to see the balcony was a covered balcony. No sun on our balcony.
