Room Type: Balcony

The ship was the Magica of Costa Cruise Lines. It was very clean.Smoking allowed in designated areas but drifted into non smoking areas which was difficult to deal with. This was my 5th cruise and I was not impressed by staff.Robotic like. Not particularly personable/friendly.They got the job done but without a spark.
Ports and excursions very good.Bike trip in Palma de Mallorca was an excellent experience.Guide experienced and helped make it a fun and informative tour.

Pros: ports/excursions

Cons: food

Recommends Costa Magica? No.

Food and Dining
poor quality of foods.Repetitive menu-buffet items.Breakfast, lunch, tea, always the same foods.Midnight offered only pizza slices.
Ship Quality
smoking in delegated sections however frequently not adhered to by passengers.Very clean.Discrepancy in ship's passenger size on web site and information provided on ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
very clean
Service and Staff
This was my 5th cruise and I found staff to be bland, unfriendly, robotic like. They were professional and got the job done but without any spark. The wait staff in dining room showed annoyance. We as customers felt uncomfortable to make requests or communicate if an error in order was made.
Entertainment
Palermo, Sicily
Cagliari, Sardinia
We did our own walking tour which was sufficient.Clean city.
Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands
bike trip was excellent with a professional, knowledgeable and personable guide. He and assistants provided much support to the riders as needed.
Don't Miss: bicycle trip through city.
Barcelona, Spain
Bus tour of city very good with brief shopping ability.
Savona (Genoa), Italy
self walking tour and trip to the beach nearby.
