Review summary
we thought the magica was a beautiful ship but the cruise and the staff leave alot to be desired. the room was very nice and the cabin steward was wonderful. the food was ok but did not live up to its reputation but our dining room attendants were excellant. the ship is not well designed in its amenties all the pools are too small for swimming or any kind of water games none of the hot tubs were hot enough to be theraputic the video game room should not be in the same area as the casino. the smoking policy is the worst i have ever had to put up with.... the only place you can smoke is at the bar but not at the table 2 feet away in all of the lounges even the multi levels. there is only 1 upper deck for smokers, so forget about seating under the shade. if you want to smoke you have to put up with the sun and the wind. the staff was not the friendiest or the most helpful.... the bar staff is not attentive, three times the same server walked by us without offering us a drink, i had to finally get up and get my own. the casino staff is not helpful or informative .. all in all we were very disappointed with our first costa experience.Ports of call
Pros: cabin steward / dining room attendants
Cons: lack of activities / size of pools / smoking policy
