Review summary

Yet another amazing experience with the only downside being so many old entitled people. The staff were all amazing

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Lots of impatient people lining up before getting called, then blocking the way for Elite and Platinum guests that have priority boarding. Once through that scrum the rest of the process was a breeze

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Top quality food as always with the best waiters around. Loved our waiters Adi and Marvin, they were amazing. Buffet staff were patient and helpful as well.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Not as many daily activities with lots of gaps in the timetable

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Not as many as previous cruises with only 3 big shows (just 2 in the main theatre) for a 14 day cruise.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Our 3yr old son LOVED the kids club, in fact it was difficult to get him out of there. :) Big thanks to the ladies, they were amazing

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always pleasant and helpful, and very patient when faced with so many old entitled people

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Not quite as well laid out as the Sea Princess was, but still a lovely ship which was constantly cleaned and maintained

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The balcony was amazing to have, the room was a good size with the only issues being the bunks stuck out into the walkway about 3inches which was enough to make it a bit tight to walk through. Shower was small so if you drop something, just accept it's gone as you're nor going to bend over to get it. There was only 2 usb power ports and 1 Aussie plug power point on the desk. (Not an issue, just fyi)

Ship tip

Enjoy yourself... it's a really good ship

Ports of call

Brisbane, Australia

Port is next to the sewage plant... what more can I say?

Cruise Fjordland National Park

5 out of 5
Just an amazing experience, so glad the weather calmed down enough to go into Milford sound

Port Chalmers (Dunedin), New Zealand

4 out of 5
Lovely town, but will cost you $35 each return to get into Dunedin. Interestingly this was only $5 on the last cruise we did.

Auckland, New Zealand

4 out of 5
If you love hills... boy is this the port for you. Bit dirty and you don't feel quite safe, but still lots to do with plenty of amazing shops

Wellington, New Zealand

5 out of 5
Lovely town with plenty to do. Highly recommended a visit to the main museum in town, especially the Gallopili exhibition.

Tauranga, New Zealand

4 out of 5
Not a bad port, lots of things to do around town and PLENTY of tours to go on

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We missed the main disembarking due to catching covid from a guy on Wellington sneezing on my wife, but the process was quick and simple

I'm sure there was young entitled people too... but seeing how I'm approaching 50 and I'd say there was only 20 or so ppl younger than me on the ship (including kids) it Waa much easier to spot the older entitled folk. :) And yeah... the elite and platinum ppl that weren't in group A trying to get in at embarkation was crazy

I was on the same cruise and the embarkation was chaotic. I was in group A which was the first to board but lots of Elite passengers were trying to board first even if they were in group G. The staff kept trying to explain that they would be the first to board in their group but not the first to board overall. Their group arrival times clearly didn’t mean anything to them because they were “elite” they thought the rules didn’t apply to them. I felt sorry for the staff at the terminal try to get everyone onboard at their allotted times. Apart from that I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise.

Sounds like you didn’t have a very positive time…. Interesting comment re being white to pinpoint the exact time and person who gave your width Covid given there were already plenty on board with it already… we tested positive on the 12 which was before wellington and were isolated until end of the cruise.

We just got back from a similar itinerary and enjoyed your description of some of the same ports. Good memories. Thanks for the review.
