Review summary

gave me a coupon book. Others that I know got the drink package for free. The coupon book is a waste!!! They made it sound like you were getting something great ($500 value). It's a waste of paper! Try for the free drink package even if you only drink water, soda or coffee. Aslo, I booked flights a year in advance through Princess. They were much cheaper than going through the airlines. I stayed at the Captain Cook in Anchorage. I booked myself, but I think travel agents may be able to get it at a better rate. About 1/3 of the ship stayed at that hotel. Princess has a desk in there lobby

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Service was excellent. I will say that I have had better food on other cruises

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were a variety of things to do. If you are making dinner reservations it would be best to know the nightly activities before hand. We cancelled or changed the dinner reservations to take advantage of a few of the nightly entertainment activities

Lido Pool

5 out of 5

Even though I was in Alaska we used the area, not the pool. There were people using the hot tub. The food in that area is also good

Gymnasium

I used it daily. Good equipment and very clean

Entertainment

5 out of 5
As I said above, there were numerous nightly activities for all different tastes

Ports of call

Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska

4 out of 5
We spent 2 days before the cruise. Did a lot of sightseeing

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
did a tour of a glacier by boat and canoe. Good time. Also spent time in Skagway.

Juneau, Alaska Did not visit port

We were supposed to visit this port. High winds prevented the docking. I had a helicopter excursion on this port. It was actually the thing that I wanted to do the most on the whole trip. That was dissapointing

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
All shopping, but had a good time walking around the town

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
Spent the day and then took the red eye home. The city was great. I'd visit it again. Did the Hop on Hop off tour

Hmmm..correction - wife said we have gotten more that two of the “free” coupon books, she threw them out without me seeing at them since they were worthless to us.

Thanks for the review. Will be on the Coral in May.

We had a “free” coupon book twice - looked at them, and put them in the circular file. Worthless. Sounds like you had a great cruise otherwise.

Was it the free coupon book or the one you buy? I know we purchased the coupon book and to me is was at least worth what we paid for it.
