Review summary

Alaska was spectacular, the weather was not. Glacier Bay was a bust, foggy and cold could not see the glaciers. Skagway train ride was interesting, hike was fun, city not much other than shops . Juneau was our best port of call with great weather and great excursion. Ketchikan excursion was cancelled, we did enjoy city tour and lumberjack show. Vancouver was okay weather was not . Denali was a bust, cold and rainy, Never saw the mountains and very few animals. Cruise overall was not as good as we expected.

I love how people complain about weather like the ship can control it. I guess if you want good weather go to Hawaii. Oh wait! It does rain there. Make the best of it. We booked our tour/cruise in the middle of May two years ago and had the best weather they ever saw in May. We saw Denali on bus from Fairbanks. Only 30% of people see Denali. To you others on here don’t let this review stop you from booking. Book your cruise and have fun. Than write how it sucks to be darsak64

Camharv, the best (and more expensive) time is June and July, but weather in Alaska is a gamble - we have had great weather in August (the crew said It was the best of the season), and iffy weather in June with the forecast on either side being great. As far as the food, on other ships 95% of the time we had great MDR food, if I did not like it, I explained what was wrong to our table steward and he got it fixed, either corrected or something else if I wanted.

This is not the best time of year for weather. Best bet up there is mid June to mid July. Other months it's 50 50 on weather.

I’d love to do an Alaskan cruise, but I’m also hesitant. Maybe better to go see sights on my own time?

Sorry to see that your cruise was a little disappointing. My wife is hesitant to book one for that reason. I am still wanting to go
