Review summary

Great cruise - I would do it all over again. It was just a wild idea to try Alaska but it was a great place to visit. The weather Gods blessed us on this trip.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Best Embarkation ever - no lines - we did all of the paperwork on the train and were given our room keys and we just walked from the train onto the ship and there were no lines and no hassle.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good - just not great. We find that the food is not as good as it used to be and there have been many changes in both menu and policies.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The Sanctuary was great - it is the only place to be on Glazier Day. Service was great and it was a great place to observe without a crowd.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Good Entertainment - not great entertainment. The entertainment provided by the cruise employees was great and I felt that they could have skipped the other entertainers that had been brought on.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great staff - great service. These employees were "spot on" and we enjoyed our week with them.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved the smaller ship - a great change - reminds me of the old days when we were cruising. Our room was great and the public areas were great. I would move the International Café if I were them - why would it be right by the casino?

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice and clean cabin - there were stains that had been removed from the carpet that caused the carpet to fade out a little bit but at least we knew that it was clean. The bed was the best I have had on a Princess ship. The room was no smaller than other balcony cabins on larger ships. We asked for extra towels and received them each day. We always had fresh ice in our refrigerator. Very pleased!!

Ship tip

Don't decide that this ship is too small - it is great and has everything that you need. I did not ever feel crowded on this ship and the theatre easily held everyone that attended. Service was top notch - they must have put their best employees on the Coral.

Ports of call

Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska

5 out of 5
Only arrived at Whittier by train and went from the train to the ship - I have to give it a 5 star because embarkation was so simple. I wish that there would have been a close place to purchase bottled water and a couple bottles of wine but there was not that I could see and that was fine.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
Not my favorite port - enjoyed most of the tour that I went on. I do not recommend any tour that includes Liarsville to anyone.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Nice clean port - enjoyed it very much.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Great time in Ketchikan. They had a very nice pier area where we were docked.

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia Did not visit port

Just transferred from ship to airport - no time for anything else.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Got off of ship quickly when our number was called and we were taken right to the bus and the bus delivered us to the airport where our luggage was waiting.
