Review summary

We had a nice time with a lot of friendly fellow cruisers.  Horizon Court Buffet food was surprisingly good and varied each day.  Ship broke down in the middle of the ocean for 7 hours, so we were unable to stop at Cartagena, Colombia.  That was extremely disappointing.  Dining room food was good for the service, but waiter service was really lacking.  There was definitely a lack of concern and rushing guests through meals.  I really think service overall has gone down hill with tips being automatically added on to each bill.  The ship had some areas that were quite stinky from who knows what.  We've also never been on a ship that had so much cigarette smoke--guessing it was wafting from the the smoking room.  Our mini suite cabin was very nice.  Closets and storage space were well planned.

FYI.....you can have the pre paid tips removed from your bill. My husband and I do this the first day or two of the cruise. I too....do not like this and I have noticed a decline in the service since they started this. We have cruised with Princess for 10 years. A tip is not a automatic right. It is a gift based on performance. I tip well but not if the room steward doesn't keep things up....or have repairs done asap. However, we have talked to room stewards who worked their behinds off and only received $20 for a week or worse for a longer cruise. That is wrong!
