Went with my wife and two kids plus my wife's parents. This was their first cruise ever and they were nervous about getting sea sick but they used the patch and were fine. Kids were in an interior room and the in-laws had a balcony room with my wife and I in a balcony room next door. Great vacation. Very relaxing with port days being a bit more hectic trying to get everything in. Food was good with no complaints.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Was scheduled for 11:30 and did have to sit in the terminal while they boarded others who had gotten there before us but wait was maybe 10 minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Enjoyed the food. Ate most dinners in MDR. Ate breakfast and lunch in buffet. Great variety of food available. The duck la orange stupid out as my favorite.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
This is not one of the big family cruise ships with go karts or water slides. Daily activities were trivia, bean bag toss and music. But knew this going in so was fine.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Evening theater shows were good. Life, Gen Maldonado and the illusionist were memorable.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Always the standout on the Summit. Everyone we met was great. When we had questions or concerns they were handled promptly
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Older and smaller sized ship but was refurbished in 2019. Everything was clean and well maintained. Did have an issue with our outlets in the room but they fixed it
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Spacious for 2 people with a clear view out the balcony. Only problem was with outlets not working. Told the room steward and it was fixed same day.
Ship tip
Understand who this cruise line's main audience is. Older crowd who enjoy a more laid-back vibe. Not a lot of families with young kids or teenagers.
Was quick and orderly. Last year this was a wrap point and we got off later than our assigned time and took long to get through customs. This time we were called 20 minutes before scheduled time and at the curb with our luggage in 10 minutes
