Review summary

Having sailed on the Summit's "sister ship" the Constellation, I was looking forward to seeing and experiencing the Summit as it has been "recently refurbished" I will take the not refurbished "Connie" anytime over the Summit. The lighting in the cabin was very poor--I had to use my mobile phone flashlight to view my clothing and safe in the 2 door wardrobe. The same for the shower--I felt like I was showering in the dark. The bathroom sink area is miniscule with no counter area for toiletries--there are two very small wall shelves that are used for bar soap and two glasses. There were a number of large stains in the carpet. I have sailed on Celebrity a number of times including Alaska and the Caribbean and have always been vey pleased and always recommend the line to friends--NO LONGER. After arriving home I canceled my reservation (with some costs) for a 15 night transatlantic cruise in April 2023. I can't imagine I will be onboard another Celebrity cruise anytime in the future.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
In addition to waiting a minimum of 20 minutes after ordering to see my starter, and another 20 minutes plus for the entree to appear barely warm, sending them back for warmer food three nights in the dining room, I finally gave up and had 2 "dinners" in the buffet--while I have no complaints on that food it is not how I want to dine for dinner.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Solarium pool, spa services and the gym.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was first-rate in all areas of the ship.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Familiar with the design from the "sister" ship Constellation.

Not sure what type of cabin you had but my experience in a veranda on the Summit was just the opposite. Sorry it didn't measure up to your expectations. I hope your next cruise is a great one. Happy New Year

I don't remember dinners under 90 minutes on any line or ship. We had our first transatlantic cruise on Celebrity Solstice, it was fabulous.

Well I just sailed on the Celebrity Beyond and it was a great cruise. Entertainment was great, plenty of activities, plenty of areas to relax or sun on sea days. Dining was a bit slower than past cruises but there was less dining room staff. I didn’t let that bother me as the ambiance , food and family I dined with made up for the longer waiting time. I personally think it is silly to banish a whole cruise line because of one “bad” experience on one of their ships. To each his own though. Hope in the future you find a cruise line you like.

You wouldn't even sail on the Constellation again? I always assume dinner will take 90 minutes. Often it's faster but under 60 minutes is fast on any line. As long as I see the waiters hustling, I can't fault them.

Sorry Celebrity didn’t measure up to the standards you know it should be. Maybe this just a one off. Appreciate your details.
