1st time to Bermuda and we need to return someday. "Celebrity Summit" out of Bayonne, NJ was a better choice than "Grandeur of the Sea" out of Baltimore, MD. You spend more time at Bermuda itself and less time sailing the ocean. Isn't that why you booked the cruise in the first place - to experience Bermuda? No regrets. NONE....
Embarkation

Parking experience was easy -be sure to arrive early (11:15am) Celebrity has it down to a science - we were photo'd and given our ship ID within 15 minutes. Once aboard the ship (waiting for our state room) our lunch dining experinece was first-rate. Not merely burgers & hot dogs but a full buffet of options.

Food and Dining

We LOVED our waiters! They were attentive to our personalities (extra butter & lemon slices were served unasked the second day). The food was always delicious (be brave - order more than one appetizer & two desserts). Yep - our clothes fit tighter upon departure than when we arrived - a good sign of dining excellence.
Onboard Activities

The solarium salt-water pool & hot tubs is where we hung out in the afternoons while at-sea. Met wonderful guests & chatted away. The evening theater entertainment must not be missed!

The evening theater entertainment must not be missed! Highly entertaining to wrap up the day. Some of these kids performing will be stars in their own right in the near future.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We felt pampered from stepping aboard ship till we left to go home. The ship's crew was focused on giving you a great vacation experience. Gripe over minor things if you want - we couldn't be happier with the attention we received along with 2,500 other guests.
Ship Quality

Celebrity Summit was recently completely overhauled. We were the third trip since the overhaul. Our windowed room was fresh & clean. The beds comfortable (including the pillows). The bathroom was small but well designed (good water pressure & hot water). The dining rooms were comfortable (never felt we were crowded upon each other). Never waited long at any bar to get an adult-beverage.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our LARGE window room was fresh & clean. The beds comfortable (including the pillows). The bathroom was small but well designed (good water pressure & hot water). The TV lost signal quite frequently (if we're a ship at sea with no trees nearby this should never have happened - poor sat-com antenna placement). Folks - we used our room to sleep, shower, freshen up, and settle down for bed after a busy day - we didn't go aboard a ship to camp in our room. Too much to do....
Ship tip
Arrive EARLY so you can park in the pier-side garage.
Easy to find. Available on-site parking. Comfortable accommodations as you wait to board ship. Showing passport and getting room key was quick and well thought out. A good experience.
1st time to Bermuda - barely scratched the surface. Need to return. Go everywhere! St. Georges. Hamilton. Horseshoe Bay. Explore the Dockyard. Had great fun doing "Rising Son Catamaran Cruise & Snorkeling" - they were right next to the ship itself. Buy the daily transportation pass and ride the ferry/bus system. Ferry to St Georges but bus back to Hamilton and catch the ferry to the ship - you'll see more of the island this way and get a better feel of their way of life.
We were one of the last off the ship and that was fine by us. We were still in "vacation mode". We were taken to the ships' theater where we read our kindle till our departure number was called. We passed thru Customs in mere minutes. Found our lugguge at the assigned sector with no problem. Paid our parking fee, loaded the car, and drove away without a traffic jam to wade thru. More power to you if you're in such a rush to resume the daily grind after such a relaxing cruise experience.
