Over all A great week as always, punctuated by some highs including dinner at Tuscan grille, Drinks at the martini bar and several good shows. Bermuda is pretty as always. However there were some changes made to the ship during the dry dock that are not to our liking. Menu in the dining Room and poolside entertainment must be upgraded.
Embarkation

First time leaving from Bayonne, NJ. Long lines much slower then other ports ie. San Juan, Ft. Lauderdale etc.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Ocean view cafe (buffet): We had breakfast there everyday and lunch most days except when we were off the ship. Post Dry dock the linear arrangement has now been staggered with multiple stations on each . New stations include a fresh bakery where breads and pastries and rolls are made on site. Really nice. There is now a vegetarian Station at lunch where there are carving things like whole squash, broccoli, and cauliflower. Other stations for Breakfast and lunch are similar To the past and accrued among others Indian, Asian, hot food, sandwiches panini salads carving station etc. Deserts have been moved to the front and now mostly consist of sheet cakes, no small pastries such as fruit tarts. There is still a pasta and pizza section. Over all the food remains very good at the buffet .
MDR: Some superficial architectural changes including frosted glass at the balconies, They white glaseine coating on the columns in the middle of the dining Room, new chairs and new carpet. The sculpture Le Normandie Which we always felt was the ship's mascot and good luck charm has been removed, bad karma. The menu has not changed in years, Probably over a decade. While there are some dishes that remain good including the Barolo short ribs, rack of lamb, beef Wellington, 1/2 duck, The rest of the menu is tired and not very good both for taste and presentation, Starting to feel like a cheap diner.
Should not have to go to specially dining Room for an elevated upscale dinner
That being said we did eat 1 meal at Tuscan grille, With outstanding food and service.
Pool grill remains the same Greasy hamburgers and Turkey burgers the servers at this station are clueless.
Martini bar on deck 4 Is always a happening place with great drinks and bartenders .
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We really do not partake in any activities. Most of the time on board we sit at the pool. Pleasant enough, though sometimes a little loud, and we seek some solace on another deck
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Only 3 stars because of the D j's and house Band. Djsi too loud and play crappy electronic music. House band plays "hard rock" . Same band on ship for last 1.5 yrs with a playlist of maybe 30 songs enough. Need to bring back some Caribbean bands, need reggae soca calypso more fun. There were 2 late evening pool parties on this cruise We were looking forward to them however the entertainment was the D j's the music stunk and we left. They were not very well attended. On prior cruises they use the bands And the parties were more fun and better attended.
However, there are new production shows in the theater and they were very entertaining a good cast of singers and dancers , And as always the show band is excellent. On our cruise the comic was so so. There was a guest singer/entertainer James Hamilton who was really fantastic.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
One of the reasons we return over and over to the summit as well as other celebrity ships despite some of the drawbacks Is the overall great service and attention we receive from the staff. We have been on a summit numerous times And several waiters in the main dining Room as well as they maitre D and headwaiters, several bartenders and drink servers Remember us from past cruises and go out of their way to make our trip enjoyable.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
We have been on the summit close to 20 times and really like the ship's layout and size. Not too big not too small, Nice amount of services for what we use including buffet dining Room bars and pool and Theater. We did peruse the shops they are quite nice. We do not use the casino, Spa, art gallery, photography etc. Not in trust in a rock climbing ice climbing zip lining a cetera all the other garbage provided on large ships .
Some negative changes post dry dock, included removal of the library and mid ship services which were replaced By additional inside rooms, not very attractive. The I cafe was moved to the 3rd floor next to guest relations with a drastic reduction in the number of computers, I'm sure this will be a pain in the neck on days when boarding passes need to be printed . Another change for the worse was at the sunset bar where the overhead canvas was removed and replaced by slatted wood veneers which allow Sun and rain to penetrate. Many of the servers told us that the bar always gets wet now . Speaking of the bar the nice mahogany bar was removed and replaced by one that appears to have a Formica top and wood veneers pretty cheap looking. Despite all the work visible rust still remains and several places around the pool and on the balconies
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin was clean, are steward was attentive and friendly and did a fantastic job. However, the cabin appears to be decreased in size post dry dock. The make up table/desk is markedly reduced in size and very narrow with basically no draws. Night tables are small with only one draw. Reading lights have been removed and replaced by globe lighting which on 1 side of the bed the switch is quite high and you will need to get out of bed to turn it on or off. Narrower closet. Probably about a 30% reduction in the size of the bathroom and shower. There is now a glass door at the shower but it opens inward and is quite swkward tonegotiate.
Been here multiple times on the summit. Great port get transportation passes Take ferries to Hamilton and Saint George , Bus to beach. We like to be independent and Almost a.never take ship board excursions
This year a shuttle bus service from king's wharf to Horseshoe Bay beach has been instituted it was $7 1 way per person and is well worth it. Horseshoe Beach however has gotten much more crowded than in the past but remains beautiful.
