Review summary

The Summit is an older ship and is in need of a renovation, which is scheduled for next year. The decor is outdated and some areas are in need of maintenance, but overall it's well maintained and clean. The Oceanview Cafe can use more staff to stay on top of cleaning the tables and replenishing food and silverware, etc. There's limited seating during busy lunch and breakfast hours, and expect long lines at the buffet, as well. The setup for each food station could've been a little better also, there are big gaps between some stations. Overall the food was very good, esp. dinners at the Cosmopolitan and specialty restaurants. Our waiting staff was excellent. The stateroom was well maintained, comfortable, spacious and clean. Our stateroom attendant gave us wonderful service. Nightly shows were very good and the live music throughout the various lounges and bars was great. The spa massage was amazing and we had excellent service there ,as well. The gym is a bit small and crowded and had minimal equipment and basic machines. It also could've used better ventilation because the windows created a heat effect and it feels warm once you start working out. They provide cleaning wipes, towels and even cold towels. A major negative is that there's only one main Dining Room for the regular crowd and two additional restaurants, which are exclusively for suite class guests. So if you're in a regular stateroom, you're limited to ONE main select / fixed seating restaurant, unless you want to shell out an additional $45 for a specialty restaurant. This brings me to another minus, which is how much they push the specialty restaurants and the constant sales pitch from the staff to get you to buy a specialty restaurant package and drink packages. Other than that, it was a great cruise. Overall customer services was good and the disembarkation process was seamless. Bermuda is a wonderful and beautiful destination.

Agree, especially on the staff trying to upsell you on premium dining options.

Thank you very much for this info. We sail in January on one of the last before they redo the ship. What stateroom number were you in?
