Review summary

This was a great trip. We traveled with 11 family members to celebrate graduations, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. The ship is very easy to get around. Just need better enforcement of pool chair hog rule!

Embarkation

very smooth process. on the ship in 8 minutes!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food in the MDR was good. They served the biggest lobster tails I've ever seen. Service was prompt and our waiter, Raymond, was very good, as was the bar service by Conrado who had our cocktails waiting at our table most nights. The only specialty dining we did was the Tuscan Grill brunch, which was excellent and will do again on future cruises.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Did not participate in a lot of activities as there were 11 of us and we kind of entertained ourselves around the pool. Did enjoy the music trivia though.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Not a big fan of the production shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Raymond in MDR, bar service from Conrado in MDR and on deck, and David Perrien the Captain's Club host, all were very helpful, pleasant and efficient. Minor issue with room steward who completely forgot to make up our room one day and neglected to deliver the daily beach towels when we arrived in Bermuda. Not the end of the world but these type of things do not normally happen on a Celebrity ship. Costa Constancio, the Asst. Chief Housekeeper took care of the stateroom issues. Crew always greeted you with a smile and a hello. Captain and Officers were very visible.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
other than our stateroom issue, the ship was clean and well maintained. I've read previous reviews stating torn upholstery on chairs, folding chairs in Oceanview Café, I saw none of that. Yes, Summit is an older ship but one has to expect a bit of wear as she sails weekly.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
On this particular sailing, we spent very little time in our cabin or on the balcony since we were traveling with a group. It was adequate and had enough storage for the 7 day sailing.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Db23. We’re on Summit again next month for Canada/New England. We almost always book on board, looking at 2020.

She is going to be “revolutionized” in the spring! Sailing on her in September and December this year. Going to book on board for next year. Can’t wait to see what is done!
