Review summary

I loved Bermuda.  Prettiest and cleanest island we have visited.  I felt very safe on the island and took public transportation every where.  I was disappointed in the Summit.  I was expecting more for an upscale cruise.  The ship is older and has been remodeled but you could still see the wear and tear.  Also, the food could have been better.  The scrambled eggs were runny every day.  The ship's captain, Captain Kate, was very cool.  Really enjoyed her daily updates and word of the day.  I would go back to Bermuda in a heartbeat but not on the Summit.

Initially we had a problem with the bathroom but our cabin steward took care of it for us and it was fine after that.

Ship tip

Food in the buffet tends to be undercooked, stick to the stations where they cook the food in front of you. Walk all the way around the buffet. There are different food stations such a pizza, Italian, steak and seafood that you won't find in the main buffet line.

I agree.  7/16 will be my 3rd sailing on the Summit and i love her.  I've been on larger, more glitzy ships, but I prefer a smaller ship.  I always have a great trip and am looking forward to my next sail date.

HONETBAIR578, I do not concern myself with wear and tear of a ship. my first cruise was on Cunard(can't remember ship name, so long ago 😆) and it was worn and torn. At first, I was like, this is a cruise ship? Expecting 3 story atrium and huge elevators. Glitz and glammer, it did not have. By the end of the cruise, I was like, when can I go again? The service, friends we made, food, were sooo good, that the lack of glitz did nothing to dampen our experience. I was on Summit over Xmas/New Years, and yes, the ship is not of the newer/ bigger/ more glamorous variety. Yet food and service was great. I still keep casual touch with a friend from Dallas area. If runny eggs were an issue, why didn't u ask the omelet guy to cook u scrambled to order? They are cooking for thousands , and may not be able to account for everyone's taste. While ur opinion is valid, as it is yours, just wanted to share mine. We willing be heading out Aug 6th, on Summit and expect everything to be perfect, even of we have to ask for it. I agree 100% on Bermuda! I have been to many islands and find it to be the most beautiful. Not just because of its beauty, as it may not be so, but mostly because the people are tremendous too! Bermuda does it right. They charge a lot for things, but they pay their workers well. No poverty, no begging for money. No drug dealers/criminals...just friendly people looking to converse or help at any moment. I find the parallel to the Summit, much the same. Glad u loved Bermuda and sorry for Summit experience!
