Review summary

We were hesitant about this cruise as the Eclipse in December was not what we expected. However, this cruise was much better and we are so happy with stuck with Celebrity. We could have done the same itinerary with Princess but because of our status with Celebrity plus the OBC, we choose this one instead.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Even though we were not at a proper terminal, the embarkation was smooth and we boarded very quickly. Very surprised

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were in a suite, and the dining at Luminae was terrific. If we didn't find something on their small menu, we could order from the MDR. Chicken was a little dry though.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Cannot comment on this as we made our own fun and did not use the ships activities.

Entertainment

Did not use these.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had travelled on Eclipse in late December and found the waiters on the December cruise pushing for 10/10 rating which ended up with us giving them a lesser rating. However, this cruise was exceptional as far as staff were concerned. Everything was 10/10!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
For an old girl, she was in very good condition...better than Eclipse actually.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Again, excellent, much nicer and better maintained than the Eclipse Sky Suite. New patio furniture as well. Carpet was not threadbare either like on Eclipse. Love this room as we love AFT views. Would certainly book again.

Ship tip

Treat the staff how you would like to be treated and they will exceed in your needs.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

San Francisco, California

Did the Chinatown dinner and tour through the ship and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great sightseeing as well as food...there was an abundance of this at the dinner.

Santa Barbara, California

5 out of 5
Sleepy little place and loved the fact you could walk to it.

San Diego, California

5 out of 5
Did our own excursion on a boat on the harbour. Even though we have been to San Diego before, this gave us a terrific view of the naval yards. The boat left from next to the Solstice.

Ensenada, Mexico

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed our walking tour but the fish market did really stink! Not enough tequila sampling though!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were doing a B2B and found the experience was much better managed than the one we did in 2018.

Traveler Photos

Cabin 9374 - well maintained Sky Suite. The pole near the bed was really handy to hoist myself out of bed everyday!!! View from Helipad going under the Golden Gate Bridge
