Review summary

The ship has the best layout of any we have been on. The captain was congenial and had a marvelous sense of humor. We had been to most ports but the shore trips were great, was during the hottest season. Can't say enough good things about the cruise, loved! loved! loved! Enjoyed the Circ du Soile on the second night. Soltice's singers and dancers are great. Had a terrific female vocalist another night. Otherwise, entertainment was enjoyable but not of our liking. So many other things to do it didn't matter. Hightly recommend the Soltice to anyone taking a cruise!!!

Very good, well prepared gourmet food. After about the fourth night, one has eaten so many good meals that your appetite diminishes. Food on the Soltice is excellent. Waiters and their assistants efficent and accomodating. A big bear hug as we left the last night.. Thank you food service.

Entertainment

We are not fans of magicians and comedians (that is not to day they weren't good). We loved the aerial shows, singers and dancers. Fantastic!

Only one time did I find a public rest room with towels scattered around the floor. I was on the same level as the front desk and mentioned it. they immediately called housekeeping. Can't blame Soltice for this, apparently someone who doesn't know how to use a wastebasket.

Cabin / Stateroom

I cannot think of anything more we could have expected from the room stewards. The cabin was very pleasant with plenty of room for storage. They were there when we were gone and our rooms in apple-pie order when we returned. All personal items respected.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

I took a tour around the island. Enjoyed Marigot for shopping although the weather was hot. Definitely will return to the island.

Pros: We loved the cabin we selected. The Solarium was great since we are older and like to be in an area without too much activity. Our initial dinner accommodations were not to our liking so the staff changed our seating and we were delighted with the change. We enjoyed the layout of the Soltice.

Cons: None. We loved this cruise, have taken 17 previous cruises. Enjoyed every moment.
