We will be doing Alaska via Celebrity Solstice summer 2023. Can someone tell me if we use keycards, magic bands or our phones or maybe some other technology to access our staterooms and pay for on board purchases. Trying to decide if I need to get lanyards for our group. Thanks!

I can't imagine it's been changed from last year.  I recall the app was mainly for checking the schedule.  Everything else was purchased through the room card.

They used key cards. You have to slide them into the slot in the doors like the old fashioned cards.

You need cards- called your SeaPass for doors and and identify your beverage package and for some  spa amenities.   A lanyard is the best way to go! Get a strong magnet for the wall in your cabin and keep it there when you’re in the cabin- no searching for your lanyard.  We are in Alaska now on Solstice- it’s been great!  Chilly at times  but worth it! Get up EARLY for Dawes glacier experience.

You use keycards for room, paying for items onboard, and getting on/off the ship while in port. We brought lanyards and it was very helpful!
