Review summary

As lovers of history, my wife and i booked a ton of walking tours on this cruise, and as a result, were pretty much exhausted every night, but we still had a fabulous time (Thank God for sea days). Would gladly do it again but would back down a little on the tours. We're in our 70's and we completed them all, so let that be your guide. Would I sail on Celebrity again? Absolutely!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Really well organized. Smooth and easy. onboard quickly, cards were at stateroom when we arrived.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was very good. food was plentiful and tasty. Having the same wait team virtually every night was a plus. Ate one night at the Tuscan Grill. while the food was good and properly prepared, it was not special and I don't recommend spending extra for it. Always interesting variety at the buffet. First time i ever ate goat. Drinks were good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We were off the ship for long periods and didn't access many of the ship's activities. Did a couple of trivia contests. Surprised that they didn't give out any prizes. ( I have enough bookmarks anyway). Pacing was a bit off, they seemed to be rushed. Art auctions were fine.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Great shows and acts. Different every night. Well worth the time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
First rate all around. Very friendly and concerned. We lacked for nothing.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful inside and out. Always saw someone cleaning, polishing maintaining the common areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved the stateroom, it seemed larger than most. Great layout in the bathroom too. Bed was very comfortable. Only surprise was complete lack of usb outlets. Maybe in the next refit. Sparkling wine as a Concierge class amenity was also very good

Ship tip

Make sure you have time to see the shows.

Ports of call

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

Hey, it's a port. in and out quickly. wide open area, move along. Nothing to see here.

Mykonos, Greece

Excursion to Delos to view roman ruins. Guide was very informative. Did not spent time in the actual town. Shuttle boats were very fast.

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
Excursion to Akrotiri ruins. Guide was very informative. Visited Oia (not much time there, but that's not why i took this tour). Ended in Fira. browsed around and took the cable car to the portside dock. Fast shuttle boats.

Istanbul, Turkey

Overnighted in Istanbul. So much to see and so little time. Took two tours and both were excellent. Did hit the highlights: Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Grand bazaar, Spice market, Cathedral Cistern, cruised the Bosphorus, had turkish coffee.

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

5 out of 5
Incredible tour of Ephesus with an informed guide. Spent no time in the town

Rhodes, Greece

5 out of 5
Tour of the other acropolis and the ancient city fortifications. Neat stop at a pottery shop. All items made on premises and signed. Exceptional tour guide. He felt like a friend when it was over. Pat of the package was a Greek lunch with local wine. Opa!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
A bit confusing as we had a long time from disembarkation to our flight. Got off the ship quickly and found our luggage immediately, but then had to find someone to point us to our bus. it took a while and several conferences before that told us which bus. All's well that ends well and we made our flight with much time to spare. I've had worse experiences in New York City.l
