Review summary

I don't think Celebrity is any better than several others we've cruised with. Some things were nice, but others were not as good as the other cruise lines we have used.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fantastic! fast and efficient

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Blu restaurant for Aqua class was nice, but menu somewhat limited- had to order from MDR several times. Tuscan Grill a big disappointment - $110 for 2 and not as good as regular dining. Buffet was very good (when we went)

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Only used spa, and they were more interested in selling products than the actual service

Entertainment

1 out of 5
This is the area that I found Celebrity to be sorely lacking. Only 1 or 2 performing in the lounges . "House band" was 4 ppl, and they were underwhelming- female singer not even on key. Too much recorded music and not enough live. Trivia games were worthless- not even amusing. They need a real band (more than 4) playing live music every night

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Steward and wait staff excellent. Took off 1 star bc Shore Excursions female crew member decided she knew everything and I knew nothing. Male crew member listened as I tried to explain, but never said anything. But- surprise! The listing on the app was corrected by the next morning! Anastasia my have been "Employee of the Year", but she was the worst crew member I encountered.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Elevators were a big, pleasant surprise- always available. Took off one star bc nearly impossible for person in a wheelchair to get to an open elevator before it closed. I f no one helped me, I missed one after the other. Very clean ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very nice size accessible cabin- evidently one of very few on the ship that had an outlet by the bed! I had heard that Celebrity didn't have plugs on the bed side, and was worried abt driving over an extension cord with my wheelchair. This has to be a safety hazard elsewhere on Celebrity ships. HAL has outlets by the bed on the 4 or 5 I've cruised on. Bathroom design ok, but didn't like having just a shower curtain dividing the toilet and the shower.

Ship tip

Aqua class probably worth the upgrade just to eat at Blu instead of MDR. They were very accommodating of my wheelchair, which I have had great difficulty navigating in Main Dining Rooms on multiple cruise lines.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Very good, except they asked in questionnaire our preferred disembarkation time (830-9), and then gave us 0755! We had to go to the desk to get it changed. Was hard for handicapped/wheelchair passengers to be out of the cabin b 0730 - have been allowed to leave later on other cruise lines.
