Review summary

Our experiences with Celebrity has always been excellent. This cruise was no exception. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the ship and will be booking another Celebrity cruise in the very near future. Between the two of us, we have been on nearly 10 other cruise lines and Celebrity is one of the finest, most professional cruise lines going today.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at Blu every night except one where we dined in the Tuscon dining room. The cuisine in Blu matches any five star restaurant we have ever experienced. Our maitre d's were so helpful and so sophisticated, they made every night perfect and seated us in our favorite area nightly. Our waiter and his assistant, Silver, took the best care of us, attending to every one of our menu choices. We ate at the Spa Cafe every morning, where Mohamed Ben Regeya and Beverlyne Ng'nyere were our wonderful servers. They started our day with great smiles and wonderful greetings, and we really enjoyed sharing our mornings with them. The overall quality of service and dining experience is the best in the cruise industry. One comment about our Tuscan experience: The food was delicious. However, there were two side tables and several empty chairs against one of the walls near the food prep area. On the tables and chairs were stacks of menus and napkins and other serving items. Then it became a waiting area for dishes coming and going from the kitchen. As it was right by our table, it was distracting from the ambiance of the restaurant. Even the Ship's dining coordinator officer noticed it towards the end of our dinner, and immediately directed staff to remove the clutter. it seemed to us that the staff was short handed that evening as the restaurant was filled to capacity.

Onboard Activities

We did the complete below the ship tour and was so impressed how well the entire work activities of the shop's crew are coordinated. It was a complete two hour tour starting with the bridge operation ending down down at the laundry. I was so impressed with the logistical planning that goes into preparing the ship to sail and the overall daily preparations that go unseen by us passengers. The dry stores and wine storage were simply amazing. Seeing how over 9,000 meals are expertly prepared every single day reminded me of how an aircraft carrier worked! To me, it was the best activity experience that I have had on my 11 sailings with Celebrity.

Entertainment

Only saw one performance by the magician, which was Las Vegas quality. The bands were very good and the three favorites were the Seabreeze String duo, Kyle solo guitarists and the Stowaways band. We were not impressed with the Silver Soul band at all. Their attempt at Beatles tunes was simply awful. We left early.

Service and Staff

Our room steward was very nice and or room was attended to several times a day. For other staff comments, see dining.
