Review summary

Our cruise was an overall positive experience. We found the food in the main dining room a major disappointment. Fortunately we booked Aqua and had Restaurant Blu at our disposal. We found most of our specialty dining evenings positive. Service was mixed bag of excellence and mediocrity. Many of the bar personnel were tired and cranky. The ship was well maintained and offered many options. The aggressive sales nature of much of the activities soon became a little tedious. The ship offers discreet and humane smoking areas.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was a major disappointment. We had very good experiences in Restaurant Blu and Murano. Tuscan Grille and The Porch were mostly positive. Surprisingly, the Overview Cafe (buffet style) exceeded our expectations (we only used this facility for a few lunches.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pool area was good with ample seating. Canyon Ranch Spa & Fitness offered both excellent facilities and personnel. Would have liked more art/craft activities or seminars that were not so sales intensive. The only LGBTQ offering was a non-exclusive cocktail hour scheduled right in middle of the dining times. We never got to take advantage of the offer.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Mixed bag: We loved our steward (Raj). He completely made our cruise. Some of the bartenders were great, some seemed surly and tired. Long wait times at non-busy bars. Customer relations and the ship's infirmary were top notch.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
A++ for the discreet and humane smoking areas. Ship was very clean and mostly well maintained. One of the main staircases featured a dead tree suspended in the air.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Had the interior space we needed. Storage for luggage was fine. Found place for all of our clothes. Veranda was a little tight for space. We might need to upgrade in the future..... ;-)

Ship tip

We would recommend to book Aqua Class. Would also strongly recommend to book additional dining packages.

A little tedious. We definitely felt 'dumped' off.
