Review summary

It was a nice relaxing cruise, but nothing special. I had heard the Canary Islands was a popular vacation spot for Europeans, so I always thought of it as being very nice. However, I live close to the Caribbean and it cannot compare.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

I like fish, but every time I ordered it, it was dry and over cooked. Once I changed to other dishes, they were very good.

Onboard Activities

Didn’t do any activities. I tried to go to the pool a few times, but never could get a chair. Pool area very small and dinky.

The pool area left a lot to be desired. The solarium was nice, but I wanted to sit in the sunshine.

Cabin / Stateroom

They have upgraded the cabin and bathroom and it is very nice. Large shower and lots of storage. The bed is next to the sliding glass door instead of the couch and you can lay in bed and look out at the sea. Very nice.

Ship tip

No laundromats and small pool with not enough room for the crowds.

Ports of call

Beautiful island! Be sure to ride the cable car up to Monte and walk through Monte Palace a tropical Garden. Take the tobaggan back down. What a hoot.

Santa Cruz De Tenerife, Canary Islands

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands

This was a nice port if you spent an hour going south to Maspalomas. You can take a bus there for about 6 Euro and stay there as long as you like.

Fuerteventura, Canary Islands

No much to do. We took a bus to Correlajo and the a Ferry to Los Lobos island. Very pretty water, but this is one ugly island. If I had known the Canary Islands were this ugly, I would never have gone. You feel like you’ve been dropped on Mars. Brown lava rock and dusty all over. Some parts have not a speck of green.

Lanzarote, Canary Islands

We went down to Puerto del Carmen area (Playa Grande Beach) and it was nice, but nothing spectacular. The sand is very dark brown and hot. Never once saw a white sand beach like advertised

Lisbon, Portugal

Pretty town you can walk on your own or take a taxi. Nice pedestrian area with lots of outdoor cafes and shops. Pretty church and castle too.
