Review summary

I liked the cruise, but the ‘ordinary’ cabin could be made more comfortable with two recliners rather than a couch...............................................................

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The ship, the staff, the activities were all great. We ate most of our meals in the restaurants and the experience there was great. The “free-for-all” food area (cafeteria) is like it is on all ships; not so pleasing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate most of our meals in the restaurants and the experiences there were great. We learned years ago to stay away from the “free-for-all food fight in the cafeteria. The cafeteria area is the same way on every ship we have been on. Folks pushing food into their mouths like it was a contest of some kind. The restaurant had great servers, great food, and good adult conversation.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lectures, reading, incidental conversation with interesting people; relaxing, watching Fox News, and games. I really enjoyed walking around the outside track of the ship for exercise. The view is great, the refreshing breeze never quits and the exercise was the best. The pool area has to be my least favorite area, and unfortunately, should be for most of those laying around it with the worst parts of their bodies exposed. (It reinforces my idea that most people are dislusional about their bodies.)

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Sue Denning, our cruise director, was outstanding in every sense. She had quite a personality and an incredible disposition. Her activities and shows were excellent as well. Surprisingly great for Celebrity.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Celebrity really out did themselves with their great entertainiment. The Celebrity Theater entertainment: The high-rope entertainment was absolutely incredible, reminding of shows I have seen in Las Vegas. The beautiful young people really stretch my level of expectation for these shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Celebrity staff, waiters, room stewards and even the cleaning crew were pleasant, efficient, friendly and a pleasure to be around. They were overall a cut above other 20-some-odd cruises I have had. Somebody is doing a GREAT job with these personnel.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very, very clean. Constantly being cleaned on the inside. Great.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was all good, but it could better, if it had two recliners instead of one uncomfortable couch.

Ship tip

The cabin room: I am there a lot!!! There’s got to be something better than the couch. There’s only two people in the cabin; why a couch? Two chairs would be soooo much better. (I realize that LARGE people might break down chairs easier than the couch, but we are not all “large people.”) It would be almost like home if there were two comfortable chairs. If the cabin was more comfortable, I think I could sail forever.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy Did not visit port

Been to Rome several times.

Barcelona, Spain

Took a taxi for the day. Was a fantastic decision. The taxi drive took us everywhere; the best was the bull fighting arena. He even dropped us off for some shopping, and waiting on us till be finish by several things. It was very well worth the extra money. So much better than hop-on-hop off, or even some guided tour bus.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

4 out of 5
Nice. Had not been here before, so enjoyed.

Santa Cruz De Tenerife, Canary Islands

5 out of 5
I really wanted to see these islands, and was not disappointed. It was a good choice for the cruise line.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
We left Ft Lauderdale for home (Dallas, Texas). The transition from the ship to the baggage area was very slow going, We stood in line on the outside area of the ship, it seemed like forever. Why we could not have stayed seated inside for another 30 minutes or so before lining up was baffling. Just seemed like this was one of the worse disembarkations we have had.

Worth repeating: The transition from the ship to the baggage area was very slow going, We stood in line on the outside area of the ship, it seemed like forever. Why we could not have stayed seated inside for another 30 minutes or so before lining up was baffling. Just seemed like this was one of the worse disembarkations we have had.

Stop judging people on how they look which shows you are a shallow person. People come in all shapes and sizes and is not a reflection of their worth as a human being.

I hope you look like a superstar in your swimwear...pretty rude if you in my opinion to be talking about people like that. People were on vacation trying to relax and enjoy themselves, they weren’t in a beauty pageant. Don’t be so negative. Also, I am sure that the sofa pulled out to make a bed...this may explain why they don’t have recliners. Really?
