Review summary

When you read of 14 days cruise you might think "how boring".  Wrong.  It was delightful...days at sea in the beginning to "rest up", enjoying the Celebrity Silhouette, eating good food.  Then a few days of ports and visiting new countries.  We met some wonderful folks from various parts of the world.  The ship was very comfortable; the larger size stateroom was a pleasant surprise. Our captain gave a very entertaining daily update at 10 AM.  About mid-cruise the daily "reset of time clocks" started to make up the needed 5-6 hours of time change to get us to the European time zone.  We are thinking about booking an Autumn Transatlantic Crossing in the future.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I have dietary restrictions (gluten free, dairy free); the head waiter and chef were very creative

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
a variety were available; we did not choose to participate very often.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We did not attend the evening production very often; what we did see was Excellent.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
very clean. did not hear of anyone getting Norovirux

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
pleasantly surprised on how spacious it was. A little bit of engine noise.

Ship tip

For the first time I purchased a beverage package (for my special teas and mineral water); it was very convenient. This ship had free cookies/pastries, and sushi..perhaps more. Good laundry service.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

3 out of 5
We stayed at a hotel prior to cruise; very smooth embarkation.

Lisbon, Portugal

5 out of 5
good tour, lots of uphill walking over cobblestones---better to wear athletic shoes than sandels.

Le Havre (Paris), France

1 out of 5
we choose not to take a tour; it happened to be a national holiday so stores closed; La Havre is an active shipping port, not a tourist spot.

Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium

5 out of 5
We bought Belgian lace, the highlight of our cruise.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

5 out of 5
The transition from ship to airport via an excursion was wonderful. We usually do this at the end of the cruise.

we did this same cruise with you. and we enjoyed ourselves so much we are going back again in april 2016. this time the ship ends in south hampton, england instead of amsterdam. then leaves there and does norway, ending in amsterdam, which we have booked as well. definitely book a balcony on these types of cruises. we were able to watch the whales from our balcony without having to jostle with the others on the pool level. this is a beautiful ship and we've done 22 cruises and love it the best so far. i do agree that the process of getting on the ship needs to be refined!!
