Review summary

We always enjoy these transatlantic cruises but believe Celebrity is now focused on the EDGE ships and perhaps this has taken a little something away from the Reflection.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Ft. Lauderdale is efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Very good but slightly downgraded from previous TA cruises. Many fellow passengers felt that Royal Caribbean served better food when they had always considered Celebrity a higher class cruise line experience in the past.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Movies were great as were some of the entertainers but needed more enrichment programs regarding ports/countries of arrival along the way.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Quite a bit of re-runs from our previous 3 TA cruises.

Children's Programs

No kids.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Needed more bar tenders during the late afternoon and early evening cocktail hours. Bartenders didn't always seem overly friendly to "Elite" class passengers. Room steward was excellent. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Starting to show some wear and tear but overall very nice. Meal service is still very efficient and the ship is easy to get around.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Bed surface was getting a little sway backed but the cabin steward (Norman) got us a topper which was greatly appreciated and solved the problem. We would have appreciated small items like Q-Tips, pen, note pad, etc., that use to be offered. Also, Norman had to find us different cabin robes because the two we had were worn and quite small.....neither of us are large people.

Ship tip

The Grand Dame of the Celebrity Solstice ships is still a nice ship but may be slipping a bit. Many past cruisers felt the Royal Caribbean ships many now be a better value and some nickel and diming may be happening.

Ports of call

Ponta Delgada, Azores

2 out of 5
The Azores is not a port for an overnight stay in our opinion and many past cruisers never got off the ship. It's a shame Celebrity doesn't plan some two day visits to places like Bermuda.

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

5 out of 5
Cobh, Kinsale and Blarney were all excellent stops.

Liverpool, England

5 out of 5
Our image of Liverpool is completely changed as this city has been revitalized. The Beatles tour was a lot of fun and good memories.

Dublin, Ireland

5 out of 5
Simply, we would go again.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
The port buses, taxi cabs and transportation seemed ready but getting folks off the ship was slow.

We loved our TA on the Reflection 4/22 and also enjoined our b2b to Iceland. Everyone is so friendly and the ship is immaculate. Will b back on in November for our 32nd with Celebrity. We have tried other ships but nothing like Celebrity.
