Celebrity Reflection

Sail date: January 18, 2019

Ship: Celebrity Reflection

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Large Group

Review summary

We traveled with a group of 16 people, and we all did different things during the day. We met for dinner and shared our experiences. It was a lovely trip. The weather was fantastic and the sea was smooth. I might book a trip on the new Celebrity Echo ship which has no balconies, but more space in the cabin with huge windows looking at the sea. I think I would like the layout better than the one we experience.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The breakfast and lunches were excellent in the cafeteria. The main dining room was quite good considering that they were cooling for close to 4,000 people. I did not like the fact that the aqua class were given so many privileges even though they did more. It just reminded me of the commoners and royalty treatment which it was. I think I paid a lot to go on the cruise, but I still felt that I was being allotted a different experience. Make everyone pay more and open the elite sections to everyone.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I used the pool and sat in the lounge chairs. The sun felt so warm and wonderful. The inside pool was my favorite pool.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I loved the singing and dance shows a lot. The magic show was just okay.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Raj was our steward, and he was wonderful. The waiters in the dining room were great.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very clean and layout was fine. The cabin was much smaller than I had expected. When I returned home, I checked my itinerary for the Royal Caribbean Mediterranean cruise we took previously. We had a junior suite. No wonder I thought the room was tiny on the Celebrity cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was okay. It was small and cozy.

Ship tip

I noticed the passengers on the Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Sea were younger than on the Celebrity Reflection.

Ports of call

St. John's, Antigua

The cab driver stayed with us while we were at the beach. I thought that was such a lovely perk.

Bridgetown, Barbados

I loved Barbados. We went to the Hilton resort with a day pass. It was awesome. For the money paid we received a towel, beach chair, and umbrella. The resort was gorgeous. We could use the pools and weight room. The lunch at the restaurant was included in the price. Look up resort with a day pass on google.

Castries, St. Lucia

3 out of 5
I heard terrible reports about the safety on St. Lucia. I stayed on the ship, but I did ventured into the port shopping area which I liked.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

We went to the Marriott with a day pass. The beach was lovely and we had a wooden cabana to provide shade.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
No problems with disembarkation.

I wish we knew about the hotel day pass. We were disappointed with Barbados especially the bustling city with non stop traffic. Then went to nearby beach which was too commercial, $1 to use bathroom and $25 beach chairs and umbrella falling apart. Boats 100ft from shore. Except for the beautiful blue water, I prefer our hometown beaches of Cape May, NJ

Its called the edge. Has sliding glass windows so they open yo make your balcony. Only problem no privacy from the stateroom.. I'm a early riser and would sneak out to balcony and leave my husband sleeping behind the curtains with balcony door closed.
