Review summary

Overall, the cruise was relaxing. The Oceanview café was a bit understaffed in the omelet station. When I pay over $9000 for a 7 day cruise, I don't want to wait in lines for anything. I have been on the Silhouette 3 times' and the crew on that ship seemed much better, and more happy than the Reflection. I may have to consider a different ship or line for 2019, as the amount of money I'm spending for a family of 5 to travel for a week, leaves me with many other cruising options.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The dining room staff and our waiter David were fantastic. But it took a very, very, long time to eat in the dining room. Most meals were over 3 hours long from start to finish. Almost every night, we had to wait 30 minutes between the appetizers and the entrée. Dessert came out quickly, but coffee came much later.

Entertainment

This is one area that Celebrity really needs to improve upon. The lounge acts were great, but the shows were not. The first comedian (I can't remember his name) was so bad, we walked out.

Service and Staff

The dining room and stewards were fantastic! The casino staff was the most unfriendly I've seen on any cruise. Very cold, few smiled. I saw something else, I've never seen on any cruise, and that was several arguments between gamblers and the dealers/pit boss at the crap table. I play craps. I've never seen so many "no roll" calls in my life at a crap table. If both dice didn't bang hard against the back wall of the table, they called "no roll". Some people are too old and too short to make that happen every time. It was annoying and frankly, ruined my gaming experience for the week. Not to mention, I had to remind the stick person to pay out my Horn bets and Hard ways repeatedly. One other very annoying thing was what occurred at the Martini Bar on deck 4. I had purchased a classic drink package and was waiting for about 10 minutes at the bar to order a martini. When the bartender saw my card, he told me he could not serve me a drink at that bar, and directed me to a bar on deck 3. He said he could pour me a martini for an additional charge. Apparently, he does not have the smaller martini glasses that would be included in my classic drink package. I thought this was not only ridiculous (because I could order as many martini's as I wanted with my package) but to make me leave and go to another bar? He could have just poured me a smaller drink. That is something Celebrity needs to improve upon.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
One of the main reasons I like Celebrity is due to the cleanliness of their ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was fine. The décor is a bit dated. I would like to see HDTV and more of a selection for watching television in the room. In 2019, I believe this is something that people have come to expect.
