It’s Colombia 🇨🇴 not Columbia, However, I hope they improve, I can’t believe they are not hiring bilingual people , Could be that the salary it’s low, because Nowadays there are more bilingual people in Colombia.

I've read, that Domincan Republic also might have language barrier. I have Google Translate just in case. Only 3 things I care about: Nearest bathroom? Baño más cercano Where can I get a cup of coffee? Dónde puedo tomar una taza de café? How much? Cuánto cuesta?☺☺☺☺

Research helps and a Translation App. That App makes it oossible to have a two way conversation by both parties speaking into the mic. It repeats you in the language of choice and writes it oit on the screen as well.

Fair enough. Now that you have explained your statement I understand. It was totally unclear in your original post.

When on streets, they don't accept USA dollars or euros, you need to have Columbian money if you want buy anything .

When you have people working in port and serving English speaking guests common sense will be to hire individuals who can communicate ,I'm not talking about general population ,what I'm saying is when you have stores in port and no-one can tell you in English what at they selling and how much it cost .The was hundreds of people from few cruises at same time the left those stores without spending money cause communication issue .Besides the I would not suggest anyone to venture by them self beyond port area do to security issue, We been ask for money ,ciggarets constantly.

Let me see if I understand one part of your post. You had an issue with no one supposedly speaking English in a Spanish speaking foreign country? So if a Spanish speaking person came to your hometown and did not happen to come across a person that could speak Spanish you would have no issue with that person not liking your hometown based on that?
