Review summary

The cruise itself lacked nothing really. The ports were outstanding as was the food and dining service. The stateroom was always kept beautifully. We had special difficulties that stemmed from our sadly having missed our flight to Rome and consequently the first two nights of the cruise. Trying to board the ship in Santorini was extremely difficult because of misinformation and communication failures on the part of the Celebrity administration as to exactly where and how to board. Once on board we were completely ignored. Halfway through the cruise I reminded the room attendant that the concierge class was entitled to certain amenities that we were not receiving. I guess no one had informed him. Our anniversary, noted in our passenger information, was totally overlooked.

I believe there needs to be a much better way for Celebrity to communicate with unfortunate people who miss the embarkation through no fault of their own, and once aboard, a special effort should be made to welcome them. Frankly, we found it shocking.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy Did not visit port

Did not have a chance to experience it.

Santorini, Greece

Waiting for the ship, we spent one night in the lovely village of Finikia, where we had an intimate cultural encounter with some of its people. They are the ones we can credit with giving us the correct info on how to board the Reflection.

Mykonos, Greece

I enjoyed the excursion to Delos. It was not difficult. Many thought it should not have been rated as strenuous.

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

Bodrum, Turkey

The castle and its museums have many steps and are too difficult for people with mobility problems.

Souda (Chania), Crete

I went to the botanical gardens and was thrilled with the gardens and also the lecture that introduced us to the gardens and the diet of the Cretans who have a very high longevity rate and avoid the diseases of the western diet.

Naples, Italy

We needed more time there. I enjoyed Pompeii but would have loved to visit the archeological museum in Naples.

You missed your flight. It all seems to stem from your lack of organisation and planning. You can't blame x for that. We had an AMAZING cruise on Reflection in August.

Why should a special effort be made to welcome you? Maybe you should have planned for more time to get to the ship from your flight. Most people seem to come to town the night before to be sure to make it. Did you ask someone about an anniversary celebration? Some people might not want that. Are they supposed to read your mind?
