A Wonderful Alaskan Adventure by MarciaA1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was our 3rd cruise and the best. Everyone was very friendly. Our waiter and assistant waiter were the best we have ever had. They always knew exactly what we wanted after the first night. Our room was very clean and our room steward was very efficient. We never even knew he was around. The food was very tasty and there were always a lot of things to do on the ship

The ship was old and needs updating. Our itinerary was changed because of mechanical issues. The staff was the best of the 20 cruises we have taken.

A wonderful ship by PatR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska

This was my second cruise, the first with Celebrity. We were on a Souithbound Alaska cruise. It was wonderful. The ship is beautiful, the food fantastic, and the staff very attentive. We were able to change one of our excursions with no problems. Every request was met. Our only slight issues was we did not know we needed to make advance alternate reservations for dining when we chose not to attend one of the formal nights. We ended up eating dinner at the buffet, okay, but would have rather had the alternate dining option. We reserved it the second formal night with no problem.

Service was great, food needs work by JimmyG2

Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship is beginning to show its age and what can only be a lack of maintence. Stateroom curtains torn, carpet is wearing thin and loose tile in bathrooms. They do their best to keep things clean but the ship is in need of refurbishing. Check in is a breeze. Exiting the ship is a night mare. Very disorganized. I paid extra for concierge class but why? Not anyting special except for an extra high price. Rooms are small but pleasantly decorated. Entertanment ranges from fair to utterly laughable. The Celebrity singers and dancers - a talented lot - are in some pretty horrible shows that don't rise about shows you would see at Six Flags. "Classique" is an absolutely mess. "Broadway Spectacular" would be better with more dancing and less over emoting singing. Foods sounds good on paper but is nver served at the proper temperatures. Menus items range from spectacular to horrible. TIP: Pastry look good but have no taste. Breads look different but are made from the same, tasteless dough. WARNING: Unlimited soda plan is $40 per person. Way over priced since you can only use the plan at cetain bars that fill your glass with ice and pour in a little soda.

We have sailed Celebrity ships before and will again as the ships are beautiful and crew helpful, however, we still prefer Holland America ships.

Disappointing first cruise experience by JohnG25

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

An inconsistent experience. The ship condition ranged from bright shiny and sparkly to aged tattered and worn. The staff ranged from superb to unacceptable. The activities seemed geared to the wrong audience and the onboard shopping was overpriced. While we had a good time, I wouldn't sail with Celebrity again, I feel they are not really delivering the kind of cruise experience that they advertise.

Nice cruise--not great, but very nice. by Sandra8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were disappointed in the ship. Having cruised on the Galaxy and Mercury, we were expecting more lavish public rooms and a lofty atrium. Our opinion of this ship (we were a party of 8) was very low ceilings throughout as to foster a clostraphobic feeling, and not very striking fabrics and colors throughout. the public areas. It was clean, but we will not select the Millenium again for this reason. Carpets along the hallways and stair landings was just plain tired and worn, though clean. In fact, recently cruising on one of the newer Royal Caribbean ships with the soaring vistas and lavish touches made this one seem outdtated. the cafeteria set up was the worst I have experienced--with low ceilings and extensive walking past many closed stations to find what was open. With the low ceilings on top of that which made looking ahead for options more difficult, not a real pleasant cafeteria experience.

Celebrity big Disappointment- by JerryH14

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Cruised the Mediterranean Venice to Barcelona Oct 2006. We booked concierge class expecting excellent service. Stale canapes delievered each afternoon. Unable to find our room attendant and only saw her twice on the whole cruise. Ship board activites were limited, we were fortunate that we only had a few sea days. We were told at every port the pool and spas would get repaired and it never happend the whole cruise. In past cruises we really enjoyed touring the ship, swimming, hot tubbing, activities and excellent choices of food with great bufffets which this ship was deeply lacking. The tours were booked through Celebrity and they turned out to be the best part of the cruise. We talked to many other passengers on other cruises and were told Celebrity was upscale with the food and service being exceptional. With the prices being higher for a Celebrity cruise we expected more and got much less.

dont go unless they refurbish it by JayR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I've been on several cruises and this ship was the worst. Needs alot of work. Paint peeling, tv that didn't work unfriendly cabin steward all made the ship sub prime. The decor is old, sometimes food lines were not available in afternoon except for pizza and burgers. Waffles were the best in the morning. The food was o.k., entertainment o.k. nothing special about the ship itself. It hasn't been refurbished thus, feels like an old ship. Bathroom didn;t work one night and there were times during the sailing that sewage could be smelt.

Tired worn out ship by TheresaE9502970

Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Overall, ship is underwhelming. Boring decor in the common areas. Cabin was in terrible shape, everything was worn out. This is definitely not the premium cruise experience that Celebrity claims to be.

Total Disasater by LynL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This ship may be ok for families or people less traveled than us. We were mis -matched to this ship to begin with. I've been on one other Celebrity cruise among the many cruises I've taken. I personally do not like the layout or decor that Celebrity chooses. There is no main lobby or meeting place...no glitz. The ship itself was in decent shape, but, a little tired.

A few Quick Tip Europe 2007 by JimH10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Sailed Europe May 2007. Service Excellent throughout ship. Suite with Butler Service good way to go, that way you can Have full dinner (from Main restaurant) served in the Comfort of your room after a tiring day of touring. Butler can also Set up a romantic Anniversary dinner in room with lobster and complimentary Champaign. Book Day At Sea Spa treatments as soon as you arrive. (they fill up quick) Bring Bartender Michael some new playing cards. He does amazing tricks at the bar but his cards are getting old. Have fun. Can board boat 8-9 hours prior to departure. (web site says 3 hours) Bringing a bottle of wine from port on ship in back pack was not a Problem. (not paying 25$ cork fee) Olympic restaurant cost increased to 30$. Definitely worth extra cost early in cruise (few guests, lots of extra attention) If you want to provide extra tip on bar drinks do it with cash instead of adding it To sales receipt. (person serving you gets less the 2% of your tip) Capri is not Worth the 50 minute boat ride there (with people getting sick from motion), the 40 minutes jamming into train, and the 30 minute boat ride to Sorrento. Pompeii is worth a trip all by itself, amazing. Recommend getting a car and Driver on your own (internet) in Rome and Florence. This lets you see more, With less crowds, personalized information (hard to understand/hear tour guides), And you control what you do. With most services the driver can provide you with Lots of information on what youre seeing. Book driver pickup 1.5 hours after ship Arrival time.

great experience even for a teen by ChristianK1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I have been on 7 cruises in the last 4 years and have never tasted such good food on a cruise before in my life. As a teen, I usually don't care about service, but found that the butler (Ram) to the sky suite was AWESOME!!! When we hung up the phone talking to him, he'd be knocking at our door to deliver a service. Our stateroom attendant (Violeta) and waiters (Juan B & Slaven) were awesome too. I didn't like that the crowd was older and I didn't really have a choice of who to hang out with (except for the 12 teens onboard) which I was fine with. Also, we had to find activities on our own. The shows were AMAZING!!! Twice, they had a "cirque de soleil" like act that took words out of my mouth. One more thing that impressed me was the daily cold towels at ports and at the pool, and the sherbert parade on sea days. Great experience...
