Review summary

This is not one of Celebrity's largest or newest ships, but we were very pleased with the colors and layout of our stateroom and balcony. The Concierge Class ammenities were much enjoyed, especially the plush robes we wore to the spa, the fresh flowers which were replaced several times during our 11 day voyage, and the daily late afternoon appetizers that appeared in our room (even though we were often too full to eat them).

Ports of call

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Juneau is a fun port with good shopping and lots of great excursions. On a previous visit we did the helicopter ride and walked on the glacier and it was awesome- worth every penny. This visit we did the whale watching with lunch at Orca Point Lodge. It was a beautiful day. We had a delightful bus driver who told stories and pointed out things of interest. The boat was comfortable, warm and the staff very knowlegeable about the wildlife. We saw 5-6 humpback whales doing their thing, sea lions and a whole pod of Orcas, which everyone said was unusual in the Lynn Canal. Our grilled salmon lunch was delicious. This was a great excursion.

San Francisco, California

A terrific city. The Fisherman's Wharf area is where the ship docks so it's very convenient. The sea lions are fragrant but totally funny and there are lots of shops and eats there. Riding the streetcar is a fun experience full of local color.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Ketchikan is charming. The totems and the forest tour were excellent. We also visited the Saxman Village and enoyed the dancers in their native costumes. It was not exciting, but interesting. They did everything possible to make us feel welcome.

Prince Rupert, British Columbia

3 out of 5
There was not much at Prince Rupert. The town did do their best to make us welcome with dancers in native costumes in the town square near the ship and little booths setup, etc. They all turned out to welcome us. Going "downtown" was a waste of time, but the "Cow Bay" area near the ship had some cute shops, restaurants, and very friendly people. We didn't book an excursion here but most were cancelled as we arrived late in port.

Skagway, Alaska

We rode the train to the summit and back which was not too exciting, but the scenery was lovely- lots of snow. The town had some shopping but little that we had not already seen in other ports.

Pros: Great stateroom, quality and variety of food, meticulous crew

Cons: Lack of cleanliness of casual restaurant, occasional shabbiness of public rooms
