Celebrity Infinity

Sail date: February 22, 2020

Ship: Celebrity Infinity

Cabin type: Balcony

Cabin number: 1139

Review summary

Given the size and scope of new ships, the Infinity is very old and dated. And the quality of the food and experiences on board to not make up for the fact that the ship is so limited. It was windy outside, and the ship rocked all night. If you get seasick this is not the shit for you I won’t go on the Infinity again

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Celebrity used to have great food. But the food on this cruise was very poor. The service in the main dining room was slow, but very friendly. The food was very bland. The buffet was crowded and the food was repetitive and pretty unexciting. The desserts were particularly terrible, and the ice cream bar was bad with very few choices and the ice cream is always melted completely. Very disappointing

Constellation Lounge

5 out of 5

Very nice and quiet

Celebrity Theater

4 out of 5

Very nice venue

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Very spotty. Some crew were wonderful and some didn’t seem to be very happy

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ship was clean, but the design of the ship was very claustrophobic and the public areas all seem too small, especially the casino

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
I paid a low price so I can’t complain, but the aqua class is no different than any basic balcony and comes with very few perks that make the extreme high price on a normal cruise worth the money. I would avoid the aqua class

Ship tip

Try to go on a newer ship

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

Typical Caribbean port. Lots of jewelry shops.

Infinity and its sister ships, the Summit and the Connie still hold charm for us. We love smaller ships, the ones made more for R & R rather than an adrenaline rush. Just our preference, but we're pushing 60.

I agree 100% with this review. I was on this same cruise and it was very unexciting. The entertainment was nonexistent - it was a nice to be docked next to Carnival Victory in Nassau because their music was jamming and we could listen to it while on our balcony! Almost all of the food & desserts were bland. The burgers & fries at the grill were the best part. I did hear that the freezers with the ice cream broke so everything melted, but they had more on Sunday (the chocolate was very chalky). Overall, not a great cruise at all.

With 0 cruises listed it’s unclear what you’re comparing to. This appears to be a 2 day, shorter cruises including 4 day tend to be lower quality food and service because the quick turnover is really hard on the crew, at least that’s my understanding. We enjoyed the Infinity and are sailing her again before and after refurb.
