Review summary
I have been on many cruises but this was my first time cruising with Celebrity and thankfully it was only three days. My husband and I embarked on the Infinity April 6, 2019 for a 2 night round trip cruise departing from Fort Lauderdale, Fl, with one port to Nassau, Bahamas. Embarkation check-in was slower than I experienced on other cruises but did enjoy the welcome aboard wine and meet and greet lunch in the main dining room, the Trellis Restaurant. The outside of the ship is in desperate need of a makeover but the inside was recently refurbished October 2018. Our concierge stateroom balcony 8057 was clean and fresh with no plumber issues, broken furniture or unpleasant/mildew smell to mention. Staff was friendly but service SUCKED!!!!! Our steward kept our stateroom clean but was MIA (Missing In Action) most of the time when needed. We had requests/questions about my husband's lost luggage, the amenities that were supposed to be delivered to our room, more towels, return clothes from the ironing service, and non working remote. We had to spend most of our time visiting or making phone calls to Customer Service, who apologized for the constant inconvenience and gave a $25 credit. The internet package was useless kept disconnecting and only worked when docked. They refunded this too. There was no staff available to discuss our photo package such as; location times and even unavailable during the hours of operation 5:30-11:00 pm. By day two we did not take one photo so they refunded our money. Food: Food was subpar. The drinks were terrible until we discovered the frosted counter Martini Bar. I tried almost every one and each kept me lit. I did find that this cruise line offered a lot of more Vegan and Vegetarian options. If you want an intimate dinner or breakfast for two, forget about it!!!! The tables were so close together that we always had someone in our conversation. I guess that is why many chose to do Specialty Dining. Late night snacks included pizza and the pasta bar that was my favorite. Entertainment: I enjoyed the Silent Disco and late night dance party. The comedian Darryll Joyce did two shows: family friendly and a late night adults only- both were hilarious!!! I did appreciate the no smoking in the casino. There was a nice size gym, fitness classes for an additional cost, beautiful decor, unique art figures throughout the ship, shops, and of course the overpriced spa. It is a smaller ship so getting around was relatively easy. There was no announcement or notification when we were arriving/leaving port from the Captain. Staff did not seemed enthusiastic or even interested that we had a good time except the cruise director. Overall, 3 1/2 stars. I wanted a quick get-away as well as; try Celebrity. The enternment was great If you like comedy. The food was meh, don't purchase the internet package or photo package on a less than 5 day cruise the price is still the same. You can't go wrong with the beverage package otherwise you will spend $50-100 daily on drinks.Embarkation
