Review summary

Although this was only my third cruise, Celebrity just became my preferred cruise line! I even booked another cruise while on the ship.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth. I had checked in almost as soon as check in was open and got an early check in time. Was there a little early (around 15 minutes) and there was no problem. I've been on a couple of other cruise lines and this was by far the most organized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The buffet, Cafe al Bacio, and Murano were excellent. The main dining room had good service, but you could tell that they are serving a large amount of people at one time. Not bad, but just not top notch.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I played trivia a couple of times, which was well run. I really enjoyed the Q&A with the cruise director and entertainers and also the presentation on how the ship is navigated.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was excellent. I especially enjoyed the comedian and magician/comedian. The music shows were also enjoyable, as well as the musical entertainment throughout the ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was top notch. I was greeted every time I passed a member of the crew. My room steward made of point of introducing himself to me in the early evening since I had not been in my cabin except to drop off my carry-on bags when I first boarded.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I prefer a smaller ship, and this fit the bill. The cleanliness and maintenance of the public restrooms was outstanding. I've been on other lines where this was not the case. I observed maintenance being performed during a port day - specifically, they were painting the crew access area. I also saw them painting the exterior of the ship after disembarkation.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I had a balcony cabin. Keeping in mind that I was a solo traveler who is on the petite side, there was plenty of room for me to unpack and store all of my clothing, SCUBA gear, and toiletries with storage space still available.

Ship tip

Although the specialty coffees at Cafe al Bacio are an upcharge, the pastries are not and change daily. They are a delicious treat.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
I went on the SCUBA diving excursion, which was a short walk from the pier. It was well run with a friendly staff.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
I went on the Small Group: San Gervasio May Ruins with a Local Historian excursion. This was my favorite part of the cruise. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate not only about the Mayan culture but also Cozumel itself. I had been to Cozumel before and had a "not worth getting off the ship" opinion, but after the tour, I can't wait to visit again to check out some of the things our tour guide told us about.

Bimini, Bahamas

5 out of 5
I did the Resorts World Beach with Lunch excursion. I had read some not very encouraging things before my cruise, but for a relatively inexpensive price it was a nice day at the beach. You could either go to the pool or the beach. Both locations had loungers and umbrellas. I chose the beach. You were greeted with a Bahama Mama, which was refreshing but not strong, for those who are expecting a "kick." There were several bars available, although I didn't take advantage of them. The included lunch had several options - Caesar salad, Caesar salad with grilled chicken, hamburger, cheeseburger, hot dog, chicken strips, or fish strips. The food was your basic beach food but not bad. The water around Bimini was a beautiful blue.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
I was amazed at how easy disembarkation was. I had put my luggage out the night before so I wouldn't have to deal with it in a crowded elevator. The bags were well organized, grouped by easy to identify tag numbers. With the check or questions in the app the night before and facial recognition, I didn't even have to show my passport. The pickup area was a bit of a madhouse, but security kept it flowing fairly well.
