Review summary

Nice cruise, good food, good service. Horrible disembarkation.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
We were back-to-back beginning this cruise. Something went haywire in the terminal and all debarkation was halted for about an hour. We were sitting around during this time waiting to do our walk through the terminal. So we’ve seen better.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The Blu restaurant was great. Oceanview has been cut back in a few areas, but still pretty good.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The guest performers were great. The production shows were the same old tired “artsy” ones we’ve been seeing for the last 7 years.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Really a cut above. Some new crew here and there, but overall friendly and effective.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Not the newest but still in decent nick. Some of the common area furniture is getting a bit tired.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Ok. Could have done with some more shelves or drawers, but ok.

Ship tip

The bar counter inside the Oceanview also does espresso coffees. An alternative if you don’t want to go down to deck 5.

Really liked this port. I don’t understand why it is visited so rarely.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
An hour delay getting clearance to disembark from the port, no idea why. Scheduled departure 0725, actual 0820. We were Elite / Walk Off so we should have been the second group off the ship, right after Suites / Walk Off. But instead, everyone (regardless of priority or walk-off status) started gathering in front of the deck 5 gangway exit: People who had checked luggage, people with airport transfers, you name it. When we were supposed to walk off, there were already throngs of people queued up in the hallways leading to the gangway, easily a few hundred. So another delay getting off the ship. Get off the ship and then had to deal with some wannabe dictators who wouldn’t let me take a suitcase down the escalator, and no, I wasn’t allowed to carry it down the stairs either, allegedly for my own good. Had to wait for the elevator with a huge queue already there. Then those queue-jumpers previously mentioned got to the baggage area, and guess what, their bags weren’t there because they weren’t supposed to disembark yet. Chaos ensued. Another delay as everyone is stopped from proceeding any further. Not Celebrity’s best performance here.

Appreciate your details. I enjoy seeing those who think they can get off early being foiled because their luggage isn’t there. Just a bit of karma for being rude. Sorry that it delayed you as well.
