Review summary

It was a nice leisurely cruise. The islands were sleepy, not as sleek as I anticipated. I enjoyed getting to know more about the islands, the people and their history.

Embarkation

Fastest embarkation yet! Love the Fort Lauderdale port!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Celebrity does it’s best to provide top rate, innovative menus. It was great meeting my special dietary needs!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools and fitness center met all of our needs

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainment was below par for Celebrity. The magician was great. We liked the solo female vocalists. The big stage shows were just average.

Children's Programs

No kids…

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service on Celebrity is always great. We enjoyed getting to know the staff from many different countries. The dining host Harun was very attentive to my food allergies. Our room steward Alfred kept things in order and always warmly greeted us. Our waiter and assistant waiter ( Wilson Jr. and Grace) we’re warm and friendly and delivered to rate table service.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The Equinox is an older mid-sized ship. It was updated and always clean. The internet was not always working; we were told that it was due to the cloud cover. We have never experienced this problem on any of our other cruises.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Large room with nice veranda. Good storage, large closet with lots of hangers. It was clean and well kept. Bed pillows were too hard. Our room steward found us some softer ones. It would have been nice to have laundry service on our 9 day cruise.

Ship tip

Expect great service with friendly staff.

George Town, Grand Cayman

7 mile beach was the best. The trip to “Hell” interesting.

Oranjestad, Aruba

We did a sunset schooner cruise in the middle of a lightening storm. We questioned the wisdom of sailing during a lightening storm. The catamaran next to us got hit by lightening! Oh my - it was a very loud boom! Our captain got everyone under the cover.

Willemstad, Curacao

Disembarkation

We were in the last group to disembark. It went smoothly. But there were long lines in the port.
