My first Celebrity cruise line cruise. This was a birthday trip for my father. Overall, I would say it was a good experience. Anytime you get to cruise is a good time. I would cruise with Celebrity again.
Good cruise to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday. My first time with Celebrity cruises and I found it to be a good experience overall. I would cruise with Celebrity again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Smoothest and fastest embarkation I have ever experienced. We were through everything in what felt like 5 minutes. 10 minutes after that could have been on the ship. But we we waited for my brother and his family to make it through after my nephew’s required test so that we could all board together. Brother and SIL indicated the testing process was organized and much easier than the process we experienced with Carnival on our cruise in March, and the test required at the port was complimentary with Celebrity.

Food and Dining

Food was pretty good. I wish there had been more variety at lunch at the buffet. Most days it seemed like there was the same menu at lunch with maybe one small difference. That being said, I could usually find something to eat most days and most of the food was decent.
Some dinner items were hit and miss. For the most part, most of the dinner meals were good. Proportions weren’t always expected. I got ravioli for dinner one night and got 3 ravioli for the main entree. A couple of nights later, there was a ravioli on the appetizer list, and I got 2 ravioli in that appetizer dish.
Late night snacks were good for those who stay out later and maybe have a few beverages. While there isn’t a large selection at late night snacks, we often found pizza and pasta to do the trick.

Entertainment

We went to one show, and the team was very talented. Good dancing and acrobatics. Some live music that we enjoyed listening to. We just wish there would have been more live music later in the evening, as it usually ended fairly early.
Children's Programs

My nephew (3 yrs) went a few times and enjoyed it. The range right now is 3-12, so activities might not be ideal for that whole range. But there were a few that worked for us.
Service and Staff

Most of the service onboard was good. Most notable was the dining room experience. We were a larger party (8), celebrating my dad’s birthday. The first day, they did not have us at the same table. For the first night, they put us at an anytime table and then found a table for us after that. Unfortunately, they seemed to have added us to a waiter who already had large groups. Dinner was slow, and our waiter struggled with details. Meals were mixed up between members of our party, details were missed, and he even forgot to take the order of someone in our group during a dinner. We were dumped on our waiter, and we had a 15 month child and 3 year old child in our party, so I do feel that our waiter was given a little more than he could handle. Just wasn’t quite what I was expecting from Celebrity.
Room steward was good. He was attentive and attempted to find my bf lost luggage on day 1. We ended up having to file a claim at guest services, at which point they sent people out to try to find it. Luggage was found at about 11 p.m. on the first night.

Room was great. The view from the balcony is slightly obstructed with a lifeboat, but because of its location, the balcony is deeper. Larger balconies are awesome. Room was clean and comfortable.
Our original excursion was cancelled due to low enrollment (beginner scuba diving). We ended up taking a taxi to Chankanaab. There is a lot you can do at this particular park; but we went for the beginner’s scuba diving. The dive shack ran through the basics and we were scuba diving for almost an hour. Great experience and likely more time under water than we would have gotten with the ship excursion.
We walked to the Zachary Taylor fort and beach area. This is a bit of a walk, but doable. Found a splash pad along the way that my niece and nephew loved. Helped to cool them off on the way to the fort.
We did the sea turtle snorkel and island tour. It was a small port once you got off the tender boat, and it didn’t seem very organized. Once we made it to the turtle center, we had a great time.
