Review summary

An excellent experience overall. Doubtful I would travel on the same ship again, but that's more a matter of personal preference as opposed to anything negative that could be said about the ship and it's crew and staff.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Extremely well organized and efficient. Would have been 5 stars except for the ships' staff haranguing passengers to upgrade their drink package as they boarded.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The traditional dining was excellent with Noor (Head Waiter), Gabriel (Assistant Waiter) and Gede (Sommelier) providing both gracious and refined service. 2 items keep this rating from 5 star. No food served after 1:00 a.m. and the service and drink quality at the Sunset Bar located at the stern o0f the ship was poor at best.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools are small which is understandable. Lounge chairs are bunched too closely for comfort. Fitness center while beautiful was always crowded. We were fortunate to have a spacious veranda so the above wasn't too much of an issue.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
December 63, a Franki Valli and the Four Seasons tribute band were exceptional. Elysium, a ship production involving music and acrobatics was ok. Wayne Cotter the comedian was subpar. There was another comedian that was apparently good.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service at traditional dining was exceptional. Francisco looked after our rooms and did an excellent job of looking after our every need and keeping the room spotless. Poor service at the Sunset Bar kept this from 5 stars

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was spotless and pristine at all times.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin exceeded expectations in size, amenities and cleanliness. It was perfect.

Ship tip

Get a balcony room. Getting near the pool or a lounge chair is impossible and it's extremely crowded

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

A beautiful city. We stayed overnight at The Cambria Suites at Blue Lagoon pre-cruise.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We toured Castillo San Felipe del Morro which was an excellent stop for anyone who appreciates historical landmarks and military history. Lots of walking but well worth it.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We did a little shopping and then did an excursion through Tim's Tours. Tim was excellent as he shared local stories of interest and took us around the island with a beach stop at Sapphire Bay and a trip to Mountain Top

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Captain Bob's tours (Soualiga Destinations) . WOW. Easily our best excursion and best day of the vacation. Jonathan was our boat operator and guide. Snorkelled in two locations and swam in three spots including Pinel Island. Stopped at the famous Maho Bay Beach and watched a plane fly directly over our boat before landing close by. Our meal was exceptional at a café on the beach. We swam while waiting for it to be prepared. Well worth your time.

Disembarkation

For some reason the lineup to get off the ship was ridiculously long. Eventually it did move, but it could have been disastrous for those who had a tighter timeline with regards to transportation from the port.
