Review summary

The ports were good, maybe Dominica not so much, no outstanding beaches, but two sea days at beginning and end provide time to relax and unwind. Ship was clean, staff pleasant and accommodating and entertainment and food good.

Silk Harvest Asian Restaurant just OK but pricey. For $70, I can feast at my local Sushi and Chinese restaurants with equal quality.

The bumps. The cruise was to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. We received an invitation at our cabin on Dec 18 inviting us to a "Honeymoon" celebration event..only the event was held on Dec 14. Oops!

The departure morning, Dec 22, there was no paper bill left at our cabin...that never happened before. I went to Guest Relations, got one and they did say the bill should have been delivered to my cabin. Oops!  Guest Relations seemed to shrug this one off.

And, our laundry was lost for 24 hours. Ship personnel handled the recovery well (delivered to another cabin), chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and a $50 OBC.

The first two bumps should not have happened, lost laundry happens and ships response was very good.

My wife slipped (her bump) on the jogging track.  It was drizzling. The staff was quick to respond with assistance and a band aid, called to follow-up on how she felt and insisted she have an x-ray at no cost to us. She did and nothing more than a bruise. Outstanding and concerned response.

We booked an October 2016 cruise on board from Istanbul to Rome. All is good. Celebrity is good.

As an Elite level Celebrity cruiser, the perks have not disappeared as they have as a Diamond level cruiser on sister Royal Caribbean. Of 19 cruises all but two have been on RC or Celebrity.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room very good, Speciality Asian restaurant just OK for $70 for two.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
No household names but good, entertaining performers. Production show performers were very good and exceptional athletes but the show theme seemed below prior standars.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff were pleasant and helpful, particulary Port and Shopping person Michael who heled us with an exchange of a bracelet my wife purchased on an June 2014 Oasis cruise.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Clean, efficiently run, great staff.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Sending out your laundry? Keep a copy of the items sent. Ship personnel response to our lost laundry was very good but stuff can happen.

Ports of call

Great port to shop. We planned on going to a beach but it rained buckets. Probably saved a bundle because of the rain.
