Great First Time Cruise by indylimo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise and I don't think we could have picked a better ship to sail on. The staff, the crew, the food, it was all top notch. This is a cruise ship and company that we would definitely sail on again.

Celebrity Edge room 12113 Concierge... by joemasty

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

Celebrity Edge room 12113 Concierge service. Vanishing deck. Pro’s and Con’s: Pro’s. Room conveniently located close to front elevator stack and a short ride up to deck 14 pool and spa and Oceanview restaurant and a convenient ride down to deck four where most things are “happening “. Plenty of storage space and drawers.. Large functional bathroom and shower. Comfortable bed and plenty of natural lighting. Con’s: Pay attention. Extended lanai deck is too small. Barely room for two chairs and tiny table without infringing back into main cabin area. Auto sun shade is located just inside of cabin rail so when down, all light from outside blocked. Not good if you want to be enjoying morning sunshine and coffee outside while partner continues sleeping in a darkened room. If outside folding door (separates stateroom and balcony) is closed to allow air conditioning of the stateroom, there’s barely enough room for the two guests, two chairs, and small table to be on balcony on opposite side of the folding door. Consider a standard stateroom with balcony or upgrade to a small suite located at the stern for the price of this combination.

Excellent Cruise - we did a back to back cruise by greenlamp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Wonderful cruise. The public areas were beautiful. Infinity Cabin lovely. Entertainment was good - but was not keen on the ship's singer and dancer shows and the Eden shows - too way out for us in fact we left the shows about 5 minutes into them, but did enjoy the bands/music around the ship and in Eden and the guest acts. Loved bandoke, silent disco and pool party. Food excellent in all venues on the ship. Liked four main dining rooms as the rooms were smaller (food mainly the same in each)- we ate at same restuarant the first week and then changed resturant our second week (did not like the table we were given on the second week but was changed for us no problem at all). Never queued for a drink on deck through the day, there are lots of bars when out on deck and by pool - pool bar, magic carpet bar, sunset bar and trolley service on the higher decks. Destination Gangway was brilliant for getting on and off the ship.

In one word- Bad by PiscinaRe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Western

In one word, Bad. Such a disappointment. Stateroom Infinity porch is not as good as standard door with drapes. When opened, creates humidity. Can’t peak out in morning. No feeling of being outside. Too small! Lack of lighting control in bathroom. Aft bar awful, no shade, too bright white, too hot, no wind barriers. So uncomfortable! Overall - limited outdoor bars without shade. Makes one wondering where to go... there is nowhere. Mediocre bar service everywhere accept at the Martini Bar. Unfortunately, they eliminated the ‘Ice Bar’ that the Reflection has. The Garden has no bar and stinks from a foul, daily consistent odor. The intimate couch arrangements are not comfortable as we just don’t want to be ‘on the spot’ to necessarily relax with others! We might, but not in such a forced way. Redesign. All bars have limited draft selections that make no sense. Music overall just ok, lack of excitement. Hot tubs are not located on same level of main outdoor pool, not as much fun or accessible. Food is fair overall, at best. Lights shouldn’t be placed on bar corners. They’re in the way. No clothing hooks inside state rooms No music inside state rooms! Zero, really! No place to walk or relax near the Edge. Just the opposite as the ship suggests it has?!? Stern glass atrium is crooked, bad exterior design. Health care facilities did not diagnose flu properly. We’re not concerned with well being at front desk, said they were closed, come back another time. Desk attendant unfriendly. Magic carpet served nothing, not even nuts. No coasters, wet bar to put your arm on. Uncomfortable. No cozy intimate bar areas, few too bars. Too few bar stools at bars. Just no where to go! Crappy beer glasses at outdoor bars. Not good. Stern of the ship is a perfect place for a fabulous bar (where Eden is). Eden has wasted the area. Ugh! Dish racks are in view while dinning. Even ‘Dirty’ dishes sign is visible from the table in Tuscan. Exercise area not well designed Grand Parlor not so ‘Grand’. No festive feeling. Dull. Generally the feeling from staff- they’re not so happy. We were the only couple in the Magic Carpet for over an hour and ignored by the bartender. Over 4 rating in scale 1-10; and that’s generous. ———— At least some bright spots- Stateroom and bath overall very nice, well designed Stateroom lighting excellent Great water pressure and drain in bathroom Ship is easy to navigate Tuscan restuarant service was excellent Exterior of ship is absolutely beautiful except for the crooked stern. Looks stupid. Excellent mixed drinks Good wine Excellent stateroom steward Gangway is very well done Has anyone in management spent time as a guest would? Not in the suite level, but in the Concerige level and down? It would be a good idea! Those are the guests that pay for the boat! The marketing videos that celebrate how great the ship designers and CEO are should be eliminated. Celebrate your guests instead! The truth.

This was our first Celebrity... by Mommy57

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

This was our first Celebrity cruise and hopefully not our last. We really enjoyed the ship. There were very few kids so not for families. It’s designed for adults. Shows were hit and miss. Enjoyed comedians very much. Cruise director best ever. Food top notch at every venue. Really enjoyed our sky suite very much. Spent most of our days in the Retreat. Some activities were lame others fun. Loved the interactive trivia. Casino expensive. Had beautiful weather. Great service. Blessed to have been able to experience it.

Beautiful ship! Very nice itinerary... by samboney194

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

Beautiful ship! Very nice itinerary for snowbirds needing a break. Modern design is intriguing, the only issue being traversing from aft to bow on decks 3 & 4. Crew was always friendly and attentive. We're anxious to see the new Apex!

I liked everything about the new ship, especially the many restaurant choices, the longer and better layout of the walking/jogging track, the theatre, and The Club. The food was typical Celebrity. I didn’t like most of the production shows. by HokieRon

Really a Unique Ship by KyKernel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This is a unique ship. Some will like it and some won't--as we found when we talked to other cruisers over breakfast. Some people like the experience of the large dining room instead of the smaller rooms on the Edge. Be sure to visit Eden on the back of the ship. I don't know why they wasted that space, but it is unique!

Loved the Edge. Honored with... by banrambo

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

Loved the Edge. Honored with champagne when embarking which, btw, was quick. Able to take luggage into room until we could stay there at 1p. Lunch was fantastic because we were concierge class. It was 3 courses complimentary! Servers were prompt and courteous. Host helped us make reservations for dinner in Eden. What an experience! Food was out of this world as was the show. Plenty of room to sit, drink, walk, etc. Elevators were swift. Loved the room. Lots and lots of storage. The infinite balcony was so enjoyable...inside or out! Art auction was first class. Give one a try, just to watch and, maybe, bid and buy. Disembarking was fast and well planned. Too many people pushed and crowded getting luggage, though that's no black mark on Celebrity. Rudeness is ridiculous. Even so, it was quick. Now if they can work out better parking for transport and queues (there were no queues). Rudeness again! But the van driver was quick and got everyone to their vehicle. WOULD DO EDGE AGAIN.

Beautiful ship but I was... by Tallman77

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

Beautiful ship but I was not very impressed. The roof top garden was a wonderful area but it needed more shaded areas. The main pool was nice, but they could have done something better than the design above the bar, a monitor like at the roof top garden comes to mind. One of the DJs was so bad, and would not play requested songs, he was the only one moving to his music. We left the pool area every time he came out due to his horrible play list (so I guess technically we were moving). The good DJ is not on the Edge anymore. Martini bar was cool and the bartenders were nice and entertaining. The shows were rather......blah. The silent disco was a blast! Food was good. Bars were wonderful (Eden was my favorite). All in all, some minor changes would have made it much better. However, the infinite veranda balcony room was horrible even though it was beautiful. Not being able to sit on the balcony and leave the blackout curtains closed for those still in the room is a big drawback for my family. Also, having to hold the button down to open the window and kind of get the balcony feeling, was a pain in the butt. Having to hold the button down to put the window back up and close the room before leaving was even more of a pain because it was not exactly quick. It would have been much nicer if it was a standard balcony.

Just finished our first BtB... by stratfordgirl

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

Just finished our first BtB and couldn’t be happier it was on the The Celebrity Edge ! We are both in our lower 40’s and have sailed on Royal Caribbean, Msc and 2 other celebrity S class ships and this is now our new favourite. The cabins and also the public spaces are all absolutely gorgeous. We had a sunset verandah on the back of the boat for both weeks and were very happy to have stuck with the “real” balcony as we enjoy that outdoor feeling . The rooms had so much storage we never even filled all the shelving even with 2 weeks of clothing . The bathroom was the largest and most beautifully decorated we have ever had ... the shower had plenty of room for an average size person . I had brought a makeup bag to hang on the back of the door but never needed it as lots of shelving to put my things on . We never once had a bad meal onboard . All of the MDR’s are stunning with such wonderful food and service you would think you were at a specialty restaurant! We had select dining and only once had to wait (with a pager so we could go get a drink ) for more than 10 minutes . We also enjoyed the steakhouse , raw on 5 and Le petit chef which was our favourite .. all fantastic but honestly not necessary. We enjoyed almost all of the entertainment onboard other than the Eden show . Made no sense whatsoever... which was fine for maybe half an hr ... but when it was still going after an hr we left ... just a plain waste of our precious time onboard. Also highly recommend going to the club after the main theatre show each night ... always something entertaining going on in there whether it was the silent disco or extra special acts by the onboard entertainment staff who were all so incredibly talented and beautiful ! We honestly had no idea how anyone could be bored on this ship .. we hated having to make a decision on what we wanted to do more most nights .. I know #firstworldproblems. Really feel this is the gold standard of cruising now and think it will be hard to go back to any other cruise lines or older ships for us ... Highly recommend booking the eastern carribean itinerary , or even better yet a BtB ....a sunset verandah .... and as early as possible to get the best pricing ... so glad we did ! Enjoy !!
