Review summary

Original cruise was cancelled due to COVID; traded up in stateroom class for a shorter cruise and didn't look back. The Sky Suite was a great choice; The Retreat was unbelievable. With rare exception, everything about the Edge was an upgrade from the Equinox class. Everywhere you turned, there were many more artistic touches than we've ever experienced on a cruise; always a surprise nook here or there to peacefully relax. Even the jogging track was well thought out and a pleasure to utilize. What a grand ship! Already booked a future cruise on the Apex.

Embarkation

The Retreat check-In was unbelievable. In fact, everything about The Retreat was over the top.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Ate in several specialty restaurants and they didn't disappoint. Eden is a great place to hang out and an entertaining dinner experience. Raw On 5 is better than you might think.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Loved their take on a jogging track.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
You can't always be at the top of your game. Great entertainment nonetheless.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff made the effort to make our cruise highly enjoyable. Even the Medical Team...unfortunately.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I like the changes brought to the Edge Class, though I kind of missed the Ensemble Lounge. The Rooftop Garden was an improvement on The Lawn Club. Eden is an experience.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Don't think we can go back to a non-suite stateroom. The extra square footage was in all the right places. The bathroom alone may make it impossible to cruise non-suite.

Ship tip

Cruise while they're forced to be less than 100% occupancy.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
The catamaran and Shirley excursion was enjoyable and relaxing

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
The Virgin Gorda Baths was probably the most extreme excursion we’d done in a while. But it was fun.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Make it a point to visit the Frenchtown Brewing Company. You won’t be disappointed; great beer.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It's good to be the first off! And the face recognition Customs setup is quick.
